Staff members were very friendly and helpful. If you travel to Switzerland from the U.K. and intend to use your computer or recharge a battery of your mobile phone or tablet, be aware that an electrical plug in Switzerland is different from the European standard two-pin one. I did not know it at all, but I needed to use my lap-top computer to access my work emails. The hotel kindly let me use a plug to convert from the U.K. three pins to the Swiss three pins.
all reviews » The offer that I had was fairly good value. Zurich is expensive, and the price was ok for what was on offer. The location is a short (10- 14 Minute) tram ride from the centre, with a tram stop more or less outside the hotel. Breakfast good but expensive if not included with the package, and a "quick" breakfast on offer. The hotel was quiet. The bar was functional, and barstaff friendly. I would probably stay there again. The hotel is new. the location is totally central, do not listen to others that say it is hard to go downtown.. it is max 10 min on one tram to parad platz door to door including waiting for tram. Breakfast is world class with the best coffee u will ever get anywhere at any class of hotel. Room and Bathroom were excellent. Shower had rainshower and was huge. There was a speaker to listen to the tv in the bathroom!. Very comfortable rooms, all you would expect from a 4 star hotel. Coffee machine, free, fast and well-working WiFi,TV-set, desk, desk lamp, safe, towel service, AirCon, very quiet. Good location: short walking distance to tram station Freihofstrasse. For city tourists I would recommend buying a 24h ticket for tram & bus at Zürich main station (this includes ferries on Zürich lake and the river). The manager, Mr. Sommer if I remember his name correctly, went beyond his duty and took me to the tram stop, about 100 yards outside hotel, to make sure we bought the correct priced ticket to the Airport. All staff is extremely professional and helpful, the breakfast personnel very accommodating, breakfast with good priced (8 FRS) option for unlimited croissants and coffee. Hotel Ramada was an excellent choice and a wonderfull experience for us, the room was comfortable and good sleep,staff are extremely cooperative which make your stay easier. By tram all the city is accesible and easy to get to the hotel it is safe all time round we would return and chose Ramada in other places as well.... Room was very clean and bright with comfortable beds. I would call this an actual hotel!! The staff were very helpful one we got there. Tram stop 2mins walk from the hotel and easy to travel around. Wifi was also provided in the room at a high speed, which was amazing!!. Cleanliness, location was not in the city center but very near to tram station and to get city center is only around 15 minutes, very good value for money, new building and clean, bathroom is good and big enough. The rooms looked exactly the same, but for an additional bed. However, the price was charged per person and night - without any difference whether 2 or 3 bed room. Unfortunately all of the pluses went out the window because there is no Air-Condition. They claim to have "climatisation" but it is simply hot air cooled by hot water. Truly unfortunate. Unable to rest for both days and nights. no water boiler in the room to make my cofee any time instead of disturbing the restaurant hmmmm... Having to take the tram to town centre was a little bit costly. There were not enough adopters to be let out which for those who has a mobile phone, a camera and an iPad will need to remember to bring your own adopters. Breakfast was expensive, walls were not enough isolation for noises in the corridors, additional bed for third people was uncomfortable even we had been informed that room for three people. Rooms are a bit small. We booked a triple room and realised it was a double room with an extra bed added. Though very close to a tram stop, you will need to change another tram along the way to reach Zurich main railway station, which takes about 20 min. Not exactly very central but for the price you pay, it is still relatively convenient.
