The family-run Chalet Hotel Schönegg is located on a hill above Zermatt and is connected to the centre via a mountain elevator. It offers a 24-hour reception, free WiFi and a panoramic view of the Matterhorn. The units at the Schönegg all come with a private bathroom with a shower, cable TV and a minibar. Nearly all also feature a balcony. In addition, the suites provide a large seating area. Guests at the Chalet Hotel can enjoy a daily breakfast buffet, including local products and home-made jams and breads. The on-site restaurant serves fine gastronomic cuisine and provides a unique view of the mountains from its sun terrace. A fresh 5-course menu is offered. Everthing including the rooms and the view were perfect. Breakfast was the best we had during our trip. Very good shuttle service to and from the train station. Staff was very helpful and informative. I liked the overall style, service, facilities and location. the view of the matterhorn from the balcony was amazing. The location of the hotel was amazing as it must have had the best view of the Matterhorn in Zermatt, we asked for a room at the front of the hotel and had a spectacular view. The staff were really friendly and couldn't do enough for you, it also has an elevator which takes you down the mountain into Zermatt. The hotel pickup service was excellent and very prompt.

Please note that Zermatt is a car-free resort. Guests can drive as far as Täsch and take the train to Zermatt. Please note that the hotel offers free transfers from/to the train station or the taxi stand from 08:00 to 19:00. Guests are kindly requested to inform the hotel in advance if they wish to make use of this service. Contact details can be found on the booking confirmation. Please note that the restaurant Uncorked is open from Christmas until Easter. Opening hours are daily except Wednesdays. Please inform the hotel if you are travelling with children and include their age. Please note that the entrance to the hotel can be accessed through a tunnel with an elevator at Wiestistrasse.

Zermatt - the village without cars
This idyllic mountain village at the foot of the Matterhorn has developed into one of the biggest summer and winter resorts.
There are no motorized vehicles in Zermatt. Besides electrically-powered cars and bicycles, the only form of transport allowed is horse-drawn sleighs and carriages.
You will find the best conditions here for a restful and relaxing holiday.

Location: Zermatt is located at the foot of the Matterhorn in the Valais Alps in the south of Switzerland at an altitude of 1,600m. above sea-level. The resort lies at the end of the Vispa Valley, which is reached via the town of Visp.

On your arrival in Zermatt we will collect you from the station or the taxi stand in our hotel taxi and drop you off when you leave. Just inform us about your arrival time in advance or call us at your arrival and our porter will collect you within 5 minutes.
