This is a beautiful and elegant hotel nestled in the old town and with the most spectacular location perched on the side of the gorge looking back onto the new town and with views of the magnificent Puente Nuevo. Our room looked out onto breathtaking views, and was clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff were excellent - extremely helpful, friendly and efficient - answering all our questions, making calls to check the Cuevas de las Pilatos were open and printing out maps for onward journey. all reviews » A perfect setting with a room overlooking the gorge. The staff were exceptional, the best I have met. We arrived by car on a narrow road outside the hotel and the receptionist jumped out, helped us unload and pointed to a spot where we could move the car out of the way. She parked it safely for us afterwards. The food was excellent on the enclosed terrace and the Maitre D moved a propane patio heater in behind my wife when she got cold. The location is perfect with views over the gorge and the mountains. The hotel has a restaurant which affords an excellent view and is especially lovely at sunset. The hotel is elegant and the rooms are spacious with excellent amenities. The staff are very professional, helpful and friendly from check in to check out. Rooms with the view cost a little more but are worth it. We were in the top floor room, fabulous view of the Alhambra, with a wonderful little wood paneled reading room. Nicest hotel staff, generous breakfast spread, it was easily our favorite stay during our 10 days in Spain. Also, as an artist I'd add it was quite nice to see some interesting paintings and prints on the walls, and not the usual corny reproductions. Bed was very comfortable. Desk staff went out of their way to help us, especially with checkin and parking. In a very busy tourist town, they were remarkably polite and sincere. The view from our room was wonderful. Lastly, hotel art work was the best we've seen in Spain. 1. All the staff we have met, especially the lady, are really helpful! 2. L'occitane toiletries are a real surprise. The location and view was spectacular. The staff were extremely accommodating and helpful. The room was small but had all the amenities I needed. They provided a massage therapist for me in my room, which was fantastic. A beautiful old building with absolutely amazing views of the Ronda bridge and gorge. Room is a bit dark, dated. Only the keys. Kept fumbling how to open and close the doors. The plunge pool was not very clean. It didn't get cleaned of debris that had fallen into the pool. Breakfast a great disappointment -we arrived 40 minutes before the end of breakfast time and not a lot was left. There is amenu but not a lot of evidence of everything being available. Suggest have breakfast outside hotel - better value!!. The hotel is not especially modern, which meant the bathroom was somewhat outdated. I prefer a separate shower instead of showering in the bathtub, but that's the only objection I could find. The Restaurant was a bit expensive. No doubt that the food must be excellent, nevertheless you can eat very well for less price in the area near the hotel. I'd would have liked to eat at their restaurant, perhaps if they lower the prices or have a good reasonable menu of the day it might bring more people in. Restaurant pricey for average menu A little bit pricy for the room. Almost nothing, shame I couldn't stay more nights !!. Air-conditioning did not work, and window overlooked noisey street, so unable to keep open at night. Room became very stuffy. Visited 1st week of November, weather very good and room too hot. No air con, which was to be expected in an old hotel, but the cool air system was not cool. Slept all night with window open, which added to the atmosphere with the horses going by!!. The Croissant and totally the type of cheeses and breads are not enough or good. Parking very limited. Air conditionning could be a little bit cooler. would like tea/coffee facilities in the room though!. Dining room very cold in winter (yes, Ronda is cold in winter!). Nothing. one grumpy staff member in the restaurant. There is no parking outside hotel. However you can park about 50 yards away to unload suit cases. Terrace overlooking gorge is lovely but not in the sun for most of the day. Supper on said terrace, now with plastic sheeting to enclose it, calor gas heaters, not great. Pool was not clean. Also breakfast - no cheese or nuts and had to ask for 2nd cup of coffee.
