I stayed for one night to break the journey from Barcelona to Valencia. The owner has restored and converted a building that had been empty for a number of years. The photos I had seen prior to my trip interred that the rooms were old. However this is just the historical style of the furniture used used to fit out the room. All the facilities are the modern. The English speaking host was so friendly and made one feel like one was staying with a long time friend. A taxi can get to within 30 met.
all reviews » The B&B is located very near to the Templar castle at the very top of the ´Rock´that overlooks and dominates the town and beaches of Peniscola. The host, Guido, is a charming man who literally rebuilt his small hotel by hand. He also personally roasts and brews perhaps the best coffee I´ve ever tasted. The B&B itself oozes ambience and there are several good restaurants just a few doors down. The Templar castle itself is fascinating historically and offers stunning views. We really enjo. The owner and his partner were very friendly and helpful. Location and hotel itself are superb although access by car is intereresting! Great coffee, roasted on the spot. Great place to relax. Wish we could have stayed longer and highly recommended. It's not only that if you go to Peñíscola you should stay at this place, even more, you should go to Peñíscola to stay at this place. Completely unsurpassable. And please, try the coffee!. Our stay was very relaxed and the owners could not have been more friendly and helpful. Breakfast was freshly cooked with excellent coffee. I would love to be able to return at some time!. Excellent small hotel within the old town walls, refurbished to a high and tasteful standard. The bottom floor operates as a cafe and the hotel is in a narrow street full of bars and restaurants. While there is no loud music there is noise from human conversations. I would suggest bringing earplugs to wear if you intend going to bed early. If you are driving, note that parking on the ´Rock´is extremely limited and the streets are very narrow. If you are walking, this is great and there is really no need at all for a car while staying at Dios Esta Bien. The next time I go, I will consider parking my car in the town and taking a taxi to and from the B&B as needed. September festivities the week we were there meant church bells starting at 5am; however, not a big problem. I had to leave my room and go downstairs to use the wifi. But this wasn't a big deal. Nothing. We had a room that came out to the pation interior and it was really humid inside. Noisy street. the room was quite small. Our was fine for a couple of nights but probably no more. the noisy coffee drinking goes on just under the room till late.
