  A very good experience: Basically a student dorm that is rented out during the summer. It's clean, comfortable and handy for the town center if you don't mind taking a bus (the #5 or 25, 1.60 euros each way). Our room, #157 was great and I recommend it: it's a corner room and very quiet.It's warm at night, but otherwise no complaints. There's even... what people say » a gym in the lower level which is spartan but very handy (and rare in San Sebastian). And and last but NOT LEAST: free parking. (Even though it's out - Colegio Mayor Olarain was a real breath of fresh air after a couple of depressing budget hotel rooms--a big, airy dorm room with big windows and lots of space. Breakfast was good too. But best of all was the staff. While in San Sebastian I fell, cut myself badly, and needed stitches. Next day I was concerned about the wound and staff drove me to a clinic to get checked out. Wonderful people here.

  As suggested by its Basque name (which was translated to me by a local to mean "a beautiful place"), an absolutely beautiful location on top of a hill, with a view of a small bay and a beacon. We could hear the roar of the sea at night! The hotel is located at about 3-4 km from the city. It is possible to walk but on the way back t - - excellent hotel if you travel by car, great location, silent in the evenings, excellent view on the sea, very friendly stuff, easy to reach to San Sebastian, good value for money. You can also travel to the mountain nearby (but somehow you need to pay 2 eur to get to the territory - private territory, we decided to refuse) Tea and coffee are available all the time.   We spent the day in San Sebastian on the worst of possible days: terribly cold, rainy, stormy weather and the famous strike with everything imaginable closed: no bar or restaurant open to get a drink or lunch! Then we got to pension Garate and a most helpful and friendly young lady who spoke English very well welcomed us. The lady booked for us dinner closeby at restaurant Narru (from hotel Niza- an - The room was clean and comfortable. We had a balcony, which was great. The accommodation was in an excellent location, very close to the beach, and walking distance to all of the sights of San Sebastian. The staff were extremely helpful. I was feeling unwell the day after we arrived, and the lady at the Pension directed us to a very good medical centre. The staff also agreed to allow us to pick up our bags late in the evening (after we had checked out), due to us having to catch a late overnigh

  We enjoyed our stay at the Zaragoza Plaza; this small hotel is well located (step away from La Concha beach and close to the old city), and in a quiet area just in front of the Zaragoza Plaza.
