  My wife and i thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Colon hotel and would recomend this hotel as an excellent central location to explore Barcelona. You are right in the centre but yet in a very quiet peacful location just off La Rambla ideal for all restaurants, the bus tours etc which are a must for anybody visiting the city. The hotel itself is beautiful and kept up. Our room was lovely with a terrace overlooking the Cathedral. Staff was very accommodating and recommended excellent restaurants.   The Catalonia Avinyo's staff called us a day ahead, informing that Catalonia Avinyo was fully booked so we were changed to another hotel in the same network called "Catalonia Port" and I really recommend this hotel!! Very new, very clean, very comfortable!! and it's near the port and Columbus Monument.   The hotel was very centrally located within a few minutes walking distance of busy las ramblas & close to many restaurants & a supermarket. The apartment room was large & spacious to accommodate my family of 4 including 2 teenagers. The bathroom was very spacious as well & the kitchenette was well equipped. Hotel reception staff were exceptional eg Aritz, Manuel & Zavi - Lovely location in the heart of the Gothic Quarter, but in a small side street so it is nice and quiet. The rooms are lovely with the exposed wall and slate tiled bathrooms. Staff were really helpful and recommended places to eat and go see, and generally very friendly and attentive. Fantastic location near all the bars and restaurants, and about 5-7 min walk to the food market, and tube (metro) station. We didn't use the swimming pool as we went in March (still too cold) but it did look tiny.

  The apartment was great for a group of 6 people (2 couples and 2 friends). It was situated perfectly for shopping and eating. It was easy to find and communication with the staff was excellent as well. If you not use to city life, then this may not be for you. But some of the stuff like towels and sheets are really too old.

  Wonderfull location, just off the Ramblas on a quiet street. The rooms are good sized and comfortably equipped. Did't have their breakfast. Had avery good stay. would definately recommend the hotel to friends and stay there again if will visit Barcelona in the future. - location and toiletries
