Located in a slightly derelict area, but felt very safe. Very handy for sights. Characterful hotel, room very comfortable, liked the L'Occitaine smellies in the bathroom! David very friendly and helpful, gave good recommends for places to eat. Free street parking nearby was a bonus. And a very nice local man guided us to the hotel when we got lo... what people say » st on the outskirts of Jerez. - David is a most welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable host. He seems to run the place pretty much single-handed, but he was always available when we needed him. The property is basically run as a B&B or as a pension, but the historic conversion, which is both sensitive and effective, gives the house much more atmosphere and soul than those descriotors might suggest.

Hostal Fenix is simply perfect. We have stayed twice now and find the hostal central to everything in Jerez. The rooms are immaculate and the breakfast a lovely touch - and is a lovely finish to a lovely stay. The rates are amongst the best in Jerez and we commend this hostal to any professional person staying in Jerez. Do not be put off with... what people say » the word Hostal. This hostal far out ranks some hotels we have stayed in... Literally a two minute walk and you are amongst the very heart of Jerez - Very personable proprietors. Easy walk to city centre. Don't let the title "hostel" fool you because it felt every bit like a family- run hotel. It was beautiful with sunlight pouring into the foyer. My room was spacious with a nice touch of the ancient wall exposed. High quality for price! I would stay here again, for sure!
