I journeyed almost five months through SA. This was the best value for money accommodation I stayed at during the entire trip (note: I stayed at cheaper and much more expensive places during this trip). I liked the architecture, the nice spacious rooms (the rooms feel like small apartments rather than rooms), the friendliness and professionalism of the staff, the excellent breakfast and pasta dinners, the well-functioning TV and internet (not always a given in SA), and the closeness to Wits Uni.

It was a pleasure to stay, with everybody doing their all to make our stay as enjoyable and as seamless as possible, especially the managers Danny and Dimitri. A few things to note, breakfast IS included in the price, not immediately obvious on the website. Also, WIFI was being extended to all rooms as I left, it just gets better and better:-) Please ask for Danny's express check-out service when leaving. Highly Recommended..!!. Wow, the photos do not do the place justice! We received the warmest welcome from Dimitri and his father, and were treated like life long friends. Rooms are beautiful and the grounds breath taking. Pure luxury with comfortable surroundings. Ideal venue for intimate tea parties and family gatherings. Safe and secure, highly recommended. I have stayed at many places and Villa Simonne is by far one of the best!. The design of the whole place was absolutely amazing. Each room had it's own theme, even the facilities outdoor had their own theme. Also, very helpful staff, Patrick was nice enough to show us all of the rooms upon entry and later on when we told him we wanted to see the other rooms. nice quiet room and personal attention(owner/manager) even gave me a ride to/from the SA Military Museum -- which is well worth a visit for those with some interest in that kind of history. very nice location, lots of different places to sit and work (inside and outside), all are friendly, will come back here. Amazing facility and staff. Decor and amenities were the best I have ever experienced. Service over-the-top friendly. The architechture of the hotel is stunning. There wasn't any aspect that I didnt like!. There weren't many people there and the people that were there were busy doing business so I was unable to meet anyone. A hand shower in the bath would have been nice so that I could wet my hair without having to my clothes wet. The basin is too small. We only stayed one night. No complaints at all. no heaters in rooms although not A major issue. Nothing.
