The hotel is well priced but the location is very dodgy to say the
least. We were able to get parking at least. The close proximity of the
bars are a huge turnoff and that coupled with the night staff at the
front desk being so indifferent to my child who tried to greet was not a
great advert for the hotel.I Was happy with the rest of the staff as
well as the neatness and breakfast was satisfactory.I Will not stay
there again. It is not kid friendly.all reviews
We had a nice weekend @ Albany hotel together with my friends. The positive thing is transport is just near meaning local taxis without a hassle in just few seconds. The friendly staff of Albany hotel always available to assist with a smile. The other thing is it's secure because the security is always around 24/7 and all this services @ an affordable price. Will definitely book @ Albany again. Keep up the good work!!.
I was impressed to se that the rooms are far better than the Holiday Inn
which claim a higher star rating than the Albany. They have improved the
room such that I would give Albany a four and half star rating.
Breakfast - wsa just perfect . Keep it up!!!! I will definately be
coming back and tell friend touse the Albany for good value for money.
The security guy ,very polite looked after my car ( rental ) when I was
unable to close the boot ,he also tried but unsuccessful. I also liked
the spirit of ubuntu I saw in Durban ,two other guys ,who came from
different directions (1 black &1 white ) tried to assist with no
luck. They appeared concerned and wanted to help.
I liked the hotel its clean, the stuff friendly and the breakfast was excellent, parking was fine. I would recommend the hotel but people must have their bags checked when they check in and out before they get accused of missing towels, very dissapointing spoiled my nice stay. Very sad.
The security Edgar won our hearts. He was delightful, friendly and ever so willing to help. The cleanliness and comfort was inviting. The breakfast was excellent, value for money, but one there was one thing that depressed me which you would read in the other column.
Convenient for transport, shopping , easiy way to the beach.
Room very damp as I developed asthmatic attact. Please let the house jerking to use glove when cleaning bathrooms & toilet according to health & safety employer need to protect their employee.
I liked the hospitality of the hotel. House keeping was excellent and
the restaurant was good .I really enjoyed my stay. I recruited my
friends who tried to book for September school holidays but it was fully
booked. I will book again for december holidays.
the staff were way beyond expectation friendly, helpful, they were the ones who made our stay so lovely, heard rumours of retrenchment, worse thing that could happen, the wheels would fall off, would only recommend this hotel because of the loving staff.
This is a nice clean hotel in a great location. The bed is large and comfortable. I like the black out curtain that allows me to sleep as long as I like.
The price is right for this hotel.
Yes I would stay here again.
The friendly helpfull staff.
The delicious breakfast.
The close proximity to the beach.
The beautifull view of the City Hall from my window.
The beautifull architexture of the old buildings surrounding the hotel.
Lady at reception, called me to find out if Im still coming. I could cancel the evenings stay with a phone-call with no hassles. Next to two architectural beauties, the Play-house and the Town-Hall.
I was so impressed ,I really enjoy my stay ,I did not expect such hospitality ,the linen was clean and rooms are neat and the breakfast was so owe some ,I'm looking forward to come back next year .
Me and my wife ran the Comrades Marathon and a special breakfast was prepared for us 3 oclock in the morning before the race started. We botth finished in time - partly thanks to the Albany Hotel.
Best location / choice for stay over after show at the Natal Playhouse in Durban. Good value for money. Curtains block out light very efficiently. Beds comfortable, room clean.
I did like it's central location and value for money. Considering it's 3 star status, I found the Hotel quite adequate for my overnight trip. Generally get's a thumbs up.
The price. And you don't get the accompanying poor facilities
either. The breakfast is a steal. I couldn't believe it. I will
definitely recommend to all that I know.
A very nice, comfortable and well situated Hotel with friendly staff helpful and willing to sort out any problem. Breakfast was great, wish I had stayed for dinner.
peaceful... quiet.... close to all requirements.... dinning room value for money....bedding an furnishings clean and in good condition ...comfortable....private ..
I have loved and ejoyed being in your hotel, the breakfack was good , I will come back soon as I can but that does not mean u guys should not improve.
The room I was in, I was able to view Moses Mabida Stadium. The place is quiet.I really enjoy myself @ the hotel. The breakfast price was reasonable.
the place is very clean, quiet and peaceful. very nice and friendly staff, makes one feel st home. loved the breakfast, it was awesome.
I enjoyed every moment we stayed at the hotel ,it's so central.we booked early than our checking in time .i was happy with everything.
staff was friendly, room was well looked after and had all the comforts I desired for this stay.. location and price were excellent.
The place is not so far from beach and is located in town most of shops are availble around.I did enjoy your breakfast is it nice.We enjoyed our stay, everything was good, will definitly visit again. for the price range, no one can complain. very neat.
I loved the value for money accommodation i received. It was really worthwhile. The rooms are clean and welcoming.
The place is at the city centre and most of the places we needed to visit were at a walkable distance.
Good accommodation at an affordable price , Plus ala carte resturant in hotel which is convient.
Convenience, friendly & helpful staff, price, location. Thank you our stay was wonderful.
Place where it's located is very good and everything, as a young couple we enjoyed my stay.
The breakfast was excellent and the staff they were friendly and accommodating.Accomodation and meals. The costing of meals is affordable. The food is tasty.
It was a clean and neat room with everything we needed. Nice bedding and beds.
The view from the room
the receptionist assistance
even the room was lovely.
Clean, secure parking facilities, delicious breakfast and good service.
All staff were very friendly, always willing to assist. Very pleasant.
Location excellent.
Decent rooms and clean
Just allround a good hotel.
it was cool and is in the center of everything you don't travel much.
Friendly welcome at the reception and the cleanliness of the rooms.
Close to areas in the city I wanted to visit. Its quite and clean.
Room was clean and spacious .Closer to city centre and beach.
we check n early in the morning and te staff were friendly.
Welcome service was good and hospitality was so welcoming.
Price
Location
You get what you pay for and maybe more.
Clean accomodation, nice bed and bedding, good food.
Room was great and hotel is located right downtown.
location next to shops and other important offices.
Cleanliness and resturant stuff was quite friendly.
The room was nice n the breakfast was fantastic. Nothing to my experience.
Break in communication between reception and dininghall staff around
breakfast time ,I reported to both and requested that I be contacted if
somebody came to reception asking for me as I was expecting somebody to
deliver another car but nobody contacted /alerted me , it was only
when I went to check ,I was told somebody was looking for me and the
person was almost leaving .
I booked two rooms since I was travelling with kids my kids room had 5 towels my 12 year old used one, our room had none I did not mind since I hate hotel towels, I never use them but got a phone call about missing towels. I'm so dissapointed I even taught of reporting this to the police because I was getting accused of missing towels. I suggest that they check the bags when people check in and out since they have towel issues. I was so mad and still A'm what the hell is that after a nice stay.
Your trainee manager and the desk clerks were not friendly. The breakfast should contain some mutton or chicken products, since my husband does not eat beef or pork. The reception area was dull and the tiny cakes and juice offered were not covered and tiny flying insects were sitting on it. The bathroom was very small for a family room.
Rooms ver damp triggers asthmatic attact.
Nothing at all even though it is a bit far from the beach, there was
always transport to ferry us to and fro.
breakfasts were not what was advertised, not a full proper english breakfast, no bar facilities for a relaxing pre dinner drink would have to think carefully about recommending this hotel safe parking is also needed for residents.
The staff is a bit slow to respond or notice when I am standing at the reception desk. They generally will go on with personal conversations. I also note there is not much of a friendly greeting from security or the person at the front door.
The price of using the WiFi is a bit high.
The noisy taxis!.
Was warned that is a shady area and that I should not walk the streets there. Shady bar around the corner. No bacon or nice meat sausages for breakfast. Parking is a problem.
Traffic noise (especially taxis using hooters for no apparent reason from 05h00 in the morning), seedy area of town, warm water flows very slowly on upper floors during peak demand.
No parking, may i suggest to replace carpet and bath (i was on 10th floor) then it will be perfect. Also please try and establish Halaal catering for breakfast by simply introducing seperate "frying" kitchen facilities.
Housekeeping. But then for that price...
time spent at front desk in and out could be more efficient maybe 2 attendants ..,.but overall stay was good.
my excess card denied me excess to my room a couple of times, that i did not like but i understood why it did that after the staff explained.
had to go somewhere else to have dinner, they had not a single channel for soccerlovers.
I didn't like the promises of the things which were not there when we book in from the system, hope you have changed whatever you suppose to fix on the system. The views on the windows were not clear, because the windows dirty.I am suggestion you should have the fridges in the room and were we can have lunch and dinner,i am looking forward to support you next future.only the noise, from the clubs in the area.
Their breakfast buffet was horrible. the food wasnt fresh and it looked recycled. not serving fresh food at their hotel is a disgrace coz my colleagues were impressed with their hotel except for the food. I went once to breakfast and did not eat the food had juice only. i never ate their food for the remainder of my stay. Will recommend to family and friends for accommodation but not their food.
Nothing.
Parking is difficult often no reciepts are given while you save on the bill from the hotel. it can cost anything between R50 to R120 per day.
Waiting for the room to be ready, I was tired & I just wanted to check- in & nap.
Exept water, water was cold from the bath room.
"Location" the area doesn't look safe.(AVIS)Parking was far and very risky. The streets that we passed through were very dark.
The staff when we arrived looked liked they were having a sort of tea party. They were helpful but could have been a bit more professional. But for this price i will not complain.
The elevator needs an upgrade
location of the entrance.
Not applicable!.
the bar and the restaurant was closed it force us to walk to other pubs which is not good and they don't have the parking of their own which make me uncomfortable.
Nothing.
I made a booking for two people and paid for two. Whilst we were in the room, security person knocked and asked me to fill a visitors register for my partner. I had to go to argue that at reception and eventually, they admit that they made a mistke when they entered info.
can do better in their breakfast ,more availability than quality .
The fact that we could not have breakfast as booked due to time constraits. we requested food parcels and we did not receive those.
Emergency lift was not working.
Breakfast was not bad, but nothing great
System took long to load.
Parking. Entrance to the hotel in alley very difficult to enter.
The bathroom was not convenient. Seems it was a disabled person's bathroom bt stuff said it wasn't. Didn't like it though.
