  Have stayed at El Convento many times over the last decade. It is an Oasis in Old San Juan which is an Oasis in itself. The convenience to the City walls where one can walk by the sea and watch the ships come in is truly special. One can understand how peaceful it must have been when it was a Convent. - Friendly, efficient service and always will... what people say » ing to oblige with a smile. We did not know very much about San Jaun prior to our stay now it is a favourite destination we would thoroughly recommend to all our friends.   This place is a potentially chaotic space when ships dock with huge numbers of guests disembarking, while other guests waiting to embark. The front desk and porters manage to help each person- group with what they need. They managed calmly huge crowds & still able to phone us the minute our room came open @ noon. Pedro was full of local information and saw us off - Staff was friendly, sincere & helpful. The room was spacious, clean, and perfect for my needs. Bathroom was also spacious and clean. The onsite burger restaurant was pretty decent for, well, burgers in PR (why have a burger with all the other yummy authentic options within walking distance?! :-)) Hotel is very close to good shopping, the historic points, and the airport is 15-20 mins away. Taxis wait 24/7 outside the hotel.

  This hotel was a treat! We usually stay at El Convento (about 6 blocks away, maybe) but they were booked. We wanted something else that seemed authentic and was in OSJ and we definitely found it! It is *NOT* a slick, up-to-code place that seems like any other Hyatt/Hilton/Marriott/Whatever. You definitely feel like you're in a quirky wonderful... what people say » distant-relative's house. In fact it barely feels like a hotel at all. The people are so nice, there are huge birds everywhere, the place is set up - The hotel is owned by an artist and there is art everywhere. Every room is unique. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. We had a problem with the air conditioning in our room and were upgraded to the honeymoon suite on our first night. There's a beautiful outdoor pool and dining area, an incredible rooftop deck with a 360 degree view of Old San Juan, several small sitting rooms, and a beautiful courtyard with seating areas. The courtyard is lit with candles at night.

  The hotel was beautiful. Our room was massive. The beds were so comfortable. I love design and color and the rooms were well put together. Fridge in the room, very handy. The staff was more than welcoming. My favourite part was the private beach area. Gorgeous pools, beaches and extremely clean. I am so happy to have stayed there.   The service. We were a family of 8, with our 10 month old grandchild...the staff worked hard to make sure that our stay was comfortable. We had a regular room, a junior suite, and two king suites. Unfortunately, the air conditioning went out in both king suites. Upon arrival and checking in we were informed that we had been given an upgrade. No idea how that happened, but it was wonderful! It was to the Presidential Suite on the 6th floor and it was simply outstanding! It was such a nice room that we decided not to venture out and explore, but instead stayed in and enjoyed all the in-room amenities. When we decided to venture out

  The Hotel Miramar was a perfect "boutique" style hotel for us. The location was ideal and we were able to walk to restaurants and bars. The beach was also a short walk away! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful (especially with restaurant recommendations). The hotel restaurant was nice and the breakfast that was included was substantia... what people say » l and simple (don't expect a buffet here!). The rooms were clean and had an "old" feel to them in a good way! I HIGHLY recommend this hotel!!! - The price was really very reasonable and the staff was incredibly helpful. A taxi was $13.00 to Old San Juan but the staff told us about the bus (incredibly simple...almost door to door!) right out front for only 50 cents!...and the stop is right in front of the hotel. The bus has it's own lane so it takes half the time of a taxi ride. Tips like that made our stay very nice. We had stayed in a beautiful b & b in Old San Juan, but this is equally convenient with that bus tip.

  Old World feeling and location in Old San Juan. We love cats, and it was great to see them roaming around the city, and even in the hotel ! - Very friendly and helpful staff. Awesome breakfast. A place witt a kit of caracter. Lovely hotel!
