Everything. It is a family friendly, family run hotel in a great location in Old SJ. Can walk to everything. It is not hard on the budget. It is not a luxury hotel, so if that is what you are looking for, stay elsewhere. However, it meets your basic travel needs (clean room, good bed, clean shower) and for us it was perfect. Stay there!! -

Have stayed at El Convento many times over the last decade. It is an Oasis in Old San Juan which is an Oasis in itself.
The convenience to the City walls where one can walk by the sea and watch the ships come in is truly special. One can understand how peaceful it must have been when it was a Convent. -

Staff was friendly, sincere & helpful. The room was spacious, clean, and perfect for my needs. Bathroom was also spacious and clean. The onsite burger restaurant was pretty decent for, well, burgers in PR (why have a burger with all the other yummy authentic options within walking distance?! :-)) Hotel is very close to good shopping, the historic points, and the airport is 15-20 mins away. Taxis wait 24/7 outside the hotel.

The hotel is in a great location, on a popular street in Old San Juan. It's beautifully restored and decorated with a Moroccan flair. We were there one night and thought that it was a beautiful hotel with a lot of character. In Old San Juan and close to shops and restaurants and activities. Staff and owner very friendly and helpful.--Help carry luggage upstairs and downstairs. Owner says that plans are in the works for an elevator. We would stay there again.

This hotel was a treat! We usually stay at El Convento (about 6 blocks away, maybe) but they were booked. We wanted something else that seemed authentic and was in OSJ and we definitely found it! It is *NOT* a slick, up-to-code place that seems like any other Hyatt/Hilton/Marriott/Whatever. You definitely feel like you're in a quirky wonderful

The hotel is owned by an artist and there is art everywhere. Every room is unique. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. We had a problem with the air conditioning in our room and were upgraded to the honeymoon suite on our first night. There's a beautiful outdoor pool and dining area, an incredible rooftop deck with a 360 degree view of Old San Juan, several small sitting rooms, and a beautiful courtyard with seating areas. The courtyard is lit with candles at night.

The hotel was beautiful. Our room was massive. The beds were so comfortable. I love design and color and the rooms were well put together. Fridge in the room, very handy. We booked this as a pre-cruise hotel stay in Old San Juan so we could be close to the action. We were NOT disappointed! Upon arrival and checking in we were informed that we had been given an upgrade. No idea how that happened, but it was wonderful! It was to the Presidential Suite on the 6th floor and it was simply outstanding! The Hotel Miramar was a perfect "boutique" style hotel for us. The location was ideal and we were able to walk to restaurants and bars. The beach was also a short walk away! The price was really very reasonable and the staff was incredibly
helpful. A taxi was $13.00 to Old San Juan but the staff told us about
the bus (incredibly simple...almost door to door!) right out front for
only 50 cents!...and the stop is right in front of the hotel. The bus
has it's own lane so it takes half the time of a taxi ride. Tips
like that made our stay very nice. We had stayed in a beautiful b &
b in Old San Juan, but this is equally convenient with that bus tip.
