Great location, only a few minutes walk from the city. Good parking, even though it costs extra. The room was basic but clean and what you would expect. The bed was good and it was quiet as we were in a room facing the carpark. -

Close walking distance to Lambton Quay and Cuba St. We had a carpark that we could use. A sheltered smoking area. A dairy almost directly across the road with another one a little further. Plus there was supermarket further down the road, all of which were convenient for those pesky little grocery top ups. The staff were helpful and friendly. Good price, good location, good service.

Very good location. Clean with great showers and comfortable beds. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A nice enough kitchen for my needs. I found my bed in a hostel style room to be quiet by city standards. Most people seem to go out to party but the atmosphere is still good.

It exceeded my expectations. For being in the heart of the city, it was great value for the money. I was worried it would be the least of places we stayed in NZ. Instead it was the nicest. My daughter and I enjoyed the access to the pool and exercise equipment, and the lift to downtown. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was most comfortable with a great kitchen, and our own washer / dryer. We would certainly recommend it to our friends.

The charm of staying at a real pub cannot be denied, especially coming from the U.S.. The staff was uniformly excellent, especially waiting up for us after our very late-night arrival. We stayed in a King Suite that was not directly over the pub, so had no issues with noise. The room was huge and included a very romantic 4-poster canopy bed.

A really nice 'pub' atmosphere, the room quaintly colonial, bedding and linen,towels etc immaculately clean. Really comfy bed! Loved the place!

While the room was quite basic, the bed was extremely comfortable and the linen very clean. Also, despite the very central location, my room was very quiet. The staff are the biggest asset to this hotel, they were so professional and friendly and no matter what time I left my room or what time I returned, it was always serviced upon my return.

There should have been better info re parking, in the book it said of a park right next door at the back of the property but when I rang and asked staff they told me of other parking buildings. It would've been a lot less stressful if I'd had directions to the park next door from the start.

I really liked the convenience of the location - right by Lambton Quay and Queen's Wharf, but not far from Courtney Place etc either. We had a nice, quiet room that was spacious and well laid out. Room was clean, comfortable and adequate for our needs. Access to and from carpark facility was excellent, safe and secure although it was a little tight in places especially if you own a large car. We ordered the full buffet breakfast. The selection of food available was excellent and the discounted price was an added bonus. Staff were friendly and inviting. -
Efficient location, good room layout for a small Studio style, all staff were very friendly and acknowledged us - from the reception to the staff tending to the rooms & in the service lift to cap park. As ex Wellingtonians, it was great to find somewhere stylish but modest where we now know we can have a good stay in the city at a good rate for a weekend.

We stayed in room 3, it was clean and had everything we needed. We stayed with a toddler and baby and it was great. Fairly compact, but just enough room.
The manager drove us to the airport in the morning and was generally really friendly and accommodating.

Loved the cottage all facilities were good, disappointed there was no milk for coffee after a long trip, otherwise great inside. -
