I loved the pool & hot tub, the beds were comfortable nice big rooms, friendly helpful staff, good parking off the street and close to CBD with cafes, bars, shops and Te Papa & other attractions. Have stayed there a few times, location on Upper Cuba St is great, very funky vibe in the area and awesome cafe scene. Really well maintained rooms and welcoming staff. We chose this hotel for the location and were not disappointed. Our room was large, and the bed comfortable. The staff were very helpful. Cheers Suzanne & Noel.

Cost of parking in the hotel, seems there's a bit of a sharper focus on extracting every last cent out of the guests these days. The room was not very private. With ceiling to floor windows on two sides of the room and other apartments 20 meters away we could see into apartments, as I am sure they could see us running around in our !! Wasnt sure of the location, knew where to find it, but finding the front door next to car parks was difficult. It was poorly sign posted. The elevator broke down and we stayed on the eighth floor. However it was a tech issue and fixed within a reasonable time frame. Having to come home!. The doors where a bit noisy, we could hear them opening and closing all the time. Nothing - it was a great experience. It was hard to find the door hangers to inform the staff that I didn't want the room cleaned. I think these should be right beside the door. I would like to be able to make an environmentally friendly choice. I found it a little difficult to understand the breakfast arrangements in the restaurant. e.g. buying an express breakfast and what that included. The menu could be clearer. Bit stuffy with no air con and unsure on keeping windows open..... Shower flooded bathroom floor. None. Parking is too expensive. I was travelling on business and my trip was extended I had to check out and book online or be charged significantly more due to demand. The shower design caused the bathroom to flood every time it was used. Bathroom shower does not drain properly so floor is wet all day and smells. Waiting for the single lift. Urine smell in bathroom despite it looking very clean. Inadequate lighting, unable to read at night. Water spillage from shower onto floor. Unable to control a/c. I did not get the room I booked. My booking was for a room with a spa but the room I was given did not have one. When I addressed this as I was checking out the man told me that I had only been charged for a room without a spa, but my bill does not reflect that. The booking amount was $184 for the spa room and that is what I was charged for the one without the spa. Was a wee bit noisy but didn't bother us but may effect families. all good. Noisy location. Washbasin emptied very slowly. Lack of individual toiletries and no spa bath bubbles which as a 4 star hotel I would expect . Booked a spa bath but was ery disappointed in the basic 4 jet spa as it hardly made a difference to a normal bath. I had booked this as a special treat and it certainly wasn't up to expectations. This has reslted in me booking the James Cook Hotel in 2 weeks time as it lives up to its star rating and the Quality Hotel Cuba doesn'T. No shower curtain which meant the bathroom flooded (second time, second stay) Also they need more staff at peak check in/out times. Too much of a wait. nothing. Apartment was small. We stayed in an apartment: Didn't like the layout with upstairs/downstairs - too crammed Shouldn't have let us have rollaway - could hardly fit it No bath - room details said it did No Sky for 24 hours (not QC's fault and got discount) No Wifi - room details said it did Loud nightlife. The staff lack of service was very bad no assistance with bags for young children was terrible. In correct info on where to wait for taxi was poor . I had planned to order room service but the staff attitude and lack of service resulted in me taking the family out for dinner. Hotel missed out on easy revenue. Poor staff atitude. The pool and spa weren't available until the 2nd day - ver frustrating as this was one of the key reasons we'd booked it. Very noisy- lots of outside noise/street commercial. Front house staff very apathetic . Poor staff Very noisy in hotel Very poor water pressure in shower.
