Room was quiet bed was comfortable but room a bit small ok for 2/3 day stay not more. View from rooms non existent but view from lounge , bar & restaurant was perfect. Food in restaurant was very good staff were excellent. And extremely helpful. The food was awesome, very good service too. The room was comfortable and warm. The view from the restaurant stunning and the staff were just lovely and friendly. Will definitely stay there again next time we are in Taupo.

It is a very nice hotel and friendly staff. There is a pool and free Wi- Fi. It is overlooking lake Taupo and it is more for people with car as it is about 2 km to the town centre. The staff are extraordinarily helpful and friendly. The room is very comfortable and the bed was heaven to sleep in. Loved staying here - a great night in Lake Taupo. The staff were really friendly and went out of their way to accommodate our dietary requirements. Even though they were full, they were friendly and helpful. - bed was extremely comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed our weekend away! Staff were friendly, room was clean, loved being able to watch the rugby on sky!. That we didn't have enough time to stay longer. - internet was extremely slow. The room we had was the smallest we had in 3 and half weeks oif touring new zealand. The room in our opinion needed updating perhaps the hotel needs less rooms and make was is left bigger. My room located near "after hours" door - woken at 4 a.m. and again a little later when I think truck drivers were leaving - door slammed loudly. Restaurant floor above noisy. The room was quite small and we had to ask to get it serviced, although the manager gave us some complementary drinks to compensate. Meal in the restauraunt not cooked as requested (steak well done when med-rare requested, looked like it had been defrosted in microwave, pork belly was luke warm) and pretty expensive for what we recieved. Very good wine though. Bathroom in need of an upgrade, shower especially old. Bigger and better towels also needed. Sometimes you can get away with a dated bathroom if the towels are wonderful thick, fluffy and large but I am afraid not the case here!. Shower curtains- water went everywhere. Not a fan of stairs but not really a big deal. Lack of off road car Parking. Noisy restaurants patrons. Small thing of could not find the remote for the tv but so not a massive issue. Not much really. Tv in nz is crap so you can't blame the hotel for this, but a dvd player would be nice. Breakfast not brilliant but adequate. The decor was dated and the room was hot (no air con) and we couldn't open window because people were underneath smoking and having a party - however they were gone by dusk so didn't interrupt sleep. The room was tiny and my view showed most of my room was underground, I was right next to the cleaning room and could hear it. Very small room. No closet or dresser. Busy road. NO chairs and small for a double room. The room we got was not what was advertised in the picture I saw on internet vey disappointed. Bad booking experience. Just one hour back to reach hotel, we came to know hotel rejected the booking saying internet error. With young children I had to find another hotel during that night.
