  The location was brilliant, its a small town anyway but nice to be a stones throw beach and short walk to restaurants. Peaceful and quiet accomodation away from the main roads - you don't emphasise this enough in your advertising as many of the others we considered all ended up being on/near main roads. Close to 'The Base' for restaurants and shopping. Fresh towels each day. The extra space and comfort at Settlers was worth a slightly longer drive to the snow in the morning and the value was fantastic. Helen was very welcoming and helpful, would happily stay again, and like to spend more time in the area.

  We were very impressed with all the staff namely Kent, Diane & Lin. They were very accommodating and made our stay really safe and enjoyable. They also took into consideration that we were with kids and very kindly extended our stay at no extra cost so that we didn't have to stress trying to rush etc. we will definitely stay again as its a rea... what people say » lly great spot n a good meeting point to catch with mates n friends from Auckland.   We had an awesome view of the lake and our room was very clean. We were treated politely and friendly on arrival great stay - Owner was helpful when my car needed seeing to. Handy to the main part of town. Opposite the lake, great.

  Dude at Reception was really nice and friendly explained everything I needed to know. Parking at the rear was great and nice spa bath. - Great location and a great price. Loved the hot tub bath. Quiet even though it was near a busy road.

  As we were watching the Ironman most of the day we didn't spend much time in the Motel at all. It was very clean and the owners were friendly. - Usual Bella vista high standard. Extremely friendly and helpful owners. Parking spaces not too cramped.

  I only needed a bed as I was attending a friends birthday party. I was given a room opposite the shower and toilet. This place is not new but my room and the facilities were very clean. I made use of the bookcase in the hallway for a short read before a good nights sleep.   Easy to book on line. Staff were aware of booking when we arrived. Attractive setting. Swimming pool. Fresh milk given to us and enough for more than 1 cuppa. Comfortable unit including lovely tv chairs. TV in lounge and bedroom.   The friendly motellier and his care and interest in our opinion. We started in a very small room (the cheapest option) and he offered us the bigger room if we needed it with bathroom and kitchenette for a discounted price as we liked the set up and feel of the place so booked another weekend. - The motel was comfortable. We were very well looked... what people say » after. Apparently the breakfast- provided option had been discontinued but owner honoured our booking by providing breakfast items for us. We enjoyed fresh towels & facecloths everyday. The water heaters over basin and shower were great.

  Everything was perfect for me, except maybe a cool air conditioner for summer times is a good idea in your rooms. When its hot you need to open all windows to cool down, but only if there is a breeze blowing, luckily the night I stayed at your motel lodge I caught a nice cool breeze, therefore I had an excellent sleep. I lived in Thailand and south east Asia for 16 years all hotels have air condit - Pleasant motor inn right on the foreshore of Lake Taupo. Good value for a clean and comfortable room. Excellent facilities provided in the room. Good size bathroom with a spa bath and separate shower. Motel slighlty removed from the main restuarant area, which meant driving but also meant noise reduction.

  The unit was spotless. Each unit had there own crockery cupboard in the kitchen, this is an excellent idea. The kitchen was large and the amenities extremely good. The lounge had a large pool table & television. The river walkway was enjoyable, you can have a 10 or 30 min walk. Its great after sitting for long periods in a car. I have already recommended this lodge - Betty was great her advice and knowledge was very helpful. The lodge itself was a good base, especially for single travellers or ramblers, fishermen sport loving persons. Great walk in the morning along the beautiful nearby river. Blue the dog is gorgeous, accommodation overall is recommended. Some persons may find it a bit basic, but it is what is and I liked it very much.
