We loved the history of Brothers. The owners have done a great job maintaining a sense of its past. I loved that even though it was a very old building, it was deliciously warm and cosy! The location was great, a short walk to town. And the views were just lovely. Oh and the yummy breakfast in the breakfast room chatting with our guests was lovely too. It was a very friendly place to stay, while still being very private if that's your preference. Perfect.
all reviews » The owner was extremely helpful. He invites guests for wine and beer at 5:00 every day - a really nice touch. Guest living room and dining room were gorgeous, with a lovely view of the city. Hotel has charm and character. A truly unique experience. A nicely presented boutique hotel. Interesting history. Very central for walking and was allowed to park all the next day in the car park even though we checked out. Owner very friendly and helpful. Offered us wine at 5pm, nice touch. Rod was an incredible host going out of his way to help us in any way possible. An excellent location and a beautiful room. We will definitely stay here again next time we are in Dunedin. The staff were extremely helpful and helped plan our onward journey. The location is up a steep hill, however everything in Dunedin is up a steep hill. Location, views. Clean, quiet,. Rooms are small. Rooms somewhat small, but clean and nice. A bit difficult to find the parking area initially, especially since builders have blocked off bottom of the street, but that's not forever. Nothing. Nothing, some people complained about the rooms being small but for a couple or a solo traveler such as my self, I found them to be a good size with everything you`d need. Be careful in the bathroom as the open plan shower makes the tiles very slippery. Our room was a little cramped but very nicely laid. No view directly from our room but the common areas had great views. Having to leave at 5.20am to catch the red-eye and missing out on breakfast!. Steep hill returning from town center. Bit of a climb from the Octagon, if walking. Key fob didn't work in the top door when dropped off in a taxi. Not a biggie but wandered to the bottom. Chose group of friends in the above group but in fact was travelling with a business colleague. Stairs. Electric plugs not accessible . No fridge.
