I just stayed 10 nights at The New Orleans. Very friendly staff, great food, very clean comfortable rooms with hot showers. If for some reason you can't party with the live band, do what I did and pack your ear plugs. Although I was amazed at how quiet my room was when the band was playing. Wish I could have joined the party...sounded awesome. Thank you New Orleans!. We wanted a place where various family members could be together as we were in town for a wedding.Very obliging,made arrangements to have group in adjacent rooms.Reception and housekeeping staff very helpful.Very good meals.Senior staff remembered names.Right in the middle of town.We all enjoyed staying there.
all reviews » Historic building in town centre. Large room with TV and fridge. Tea coffee and UHT milk supplied. Hotel attached to pub restaurant (we recommend the lamb burger) with quiz night. Electrc blankets and wine glasses in the room. The staff are vey nice, good meals, very big, so be a big eater lol, great character pub and the locals are friendly, the room had a very comfortable bed and good shower, had a great time, cheers New Orleans. The staff were amazing. When I left my handbag at a nearby restaurant they arranged to collect it for me and post it on to where I was staying for the rest of my trip in nz. The location of central arrowtown. The scenic views and outstanding hospitality if the staff and locals. A wonderful place to stay and I could live in arrowtown happily. We were in Arrowtown to attend a family wedding. The hotel was all we could have wished for; friendly helpful staff, central location, good food and good value for money. Staff were friendly and helpful - quiet and warm - close to the beauty of Arrowtown, easy walking to all main attractions, along the streets, etc, budget priced room.. That it was on the main street in Arrowtown and had a lovely cozy atmosphere. We especially liked it snowing while we were there when we got up the next morning. And Bar!. location. Arrowtown is a quaint place. We checked into the hotel at the bar in the restaurant. You can hang out in the restaurant by a real fire place and surf the net if you get bored in your tiny room. The price is as good as you'll get in this expensive little village. Staff were very helpfull.Handy to other towns. Lovely big fire in and outside.You could have lovely meals or drinks all in the one place and keep warm. Walk with narrow stairs from the free public car park (no hotel parking). There is nothing not to like. It is one of the world's most beautiful locations. There was nothing we did not like. There was nothing that we didn't like. Leaky hot tap in shower and leaky toilet that was noisey after you flushed it. The fact that we only stayed for one night. Room was very cold. The small heater was insufficient to warm the room up and it also had a 60min timer on it which at least I didn't know how to override. We were put in the wrong room at first. A double bed was given instead of 2 singles. Room was downstairs out back, Very noisy with music at night, Very noisy in morning with clanging of bottles being thrown in crates, No aircon in room and very stuffy, Car parking and unloading bags poor,. A little bit noisy but then it is a pub in the middle of town, so not really a problem. Some of the staff were a little offhand. No air conditioning - days were warm and room got hot when large door/window closed. Heating a bit minimal. All ok. bathroom old, shower small, wall behind bed leaked made pillow wet. The check-in arrangement and the reception we received. Our room on the lower level may not be a basement as there is a small courtyard outside the door, but it is mainly a storage and trash area for the restaurant. If you can spend more, pass on this hotel for something better. Needed agood tidy up especially upstairs rooms looking onto smelly rubbish bins more pots and things might look nicer.Inside my shower was roughly finished at bottom scared I was goin to cut myself,main light in lounge found it difficult to read and write at nite.Coffee,tea milk never replaced had to buy my own,never had sugar. Security: Only ventilation is through ranch-slider access door from gallery that is open to pub punters and people off the street- you either leave the door open or smother in a small room without even a working extraction fan from bathroom. Noise/music from pub was luckily short-lived as we stayed for a quiet Sunday nite. Little cramped, bathroom facilities could be better, especially shower and hole in the ceiling where there is now a defunct fan. We were initially put into a room which hadn't been done up. I asked for a transfer to a refurbished room, which they agreed to for an extra $20, however they advised that the Freeview for the tv in the room was not working but would be fixed later that day. It was never fixed for the two nights we were there despite asking frequently. The extractor fans were REALLY noisy as were some other bits of macheniery in the 'courtyard' room was half painted. Stains on the carpet. The TV only worked intermittently. I would not stay again. TV wouldn't work and staff slow to respond. Very noisy bar till 1.45am!. No air conditioning for very hot weather. Noise from outside bar area late evening. laundry facilities room layout. Room was average. Limited facilities. Too warm asked for a fan but didn't get one. Staff were not friendly as they could have been and tended to ignore customers until they were finished talking to each other rather than putting customers first. The shower was dirty, in one room the hairdryer did not work and in the other room the wire casing was broken and the wires were showing. There was rubbish on our bedroom floor and the carpets were stained. The room could have done with a spring clean, the staff used the gallery next to the room to sort their differences and the coolers for the ice cream store were in the courtyard next to the room and were running all night - not quiet. The lady who received us seemed a little confused that we had arrived when we managed to find her- but she did get it sorted.
