The staff was so friendly and helpful. The hotel was located just out of the way from the middle of town so it gave us a little area to ourselves with some peace and quiet. The rooms weren't too small, and it was very clean. Internet access was very easy to use and convenient. All in all, fantastic stay and I would absolutely go back there again, in fact I already have!. the room was excellent, the staff takes really good care for their customers.

Convenience, facilities, quiet, good value. it was easy access to the main parts of town and a tram stopped right outside the hotel (you can pay for the tram on the tram ) the bathroom was a tad small and they need a better shower curtain as the floor got soaked... i was on business with a car, the staff assisted me with local parking and took yime to help.The staff were very friendly and the bed very comfortable. Only breakfast, no restaurant otherwise. there was construction next to the hotel and they started at 7am.very noisy. toilet is very tiny that you can barely sit,but its ok.It was a little far out from the city, but the tram service was excellent. We had to write down our passport and the CREDITCARDno. Not sooptional!! When we checked out they had already blooked the sum but didnot know that this was done and my husband had to pay as may card wasdeklined.When we came home I had some trouble to get my money back on mycard. Very bad!!!. En-suite mini bar, Room Service to order something (you had to buy a bottle of water or something from the vending machine). the cleanlines of the hotel loby toilets.no proper bar facilities. Nice hotel ... however, I could not change duration of my stay because it was prepaid. As a result I will never stay there again (nor will any other employee I work with). Of course it is impossible to make the rooms bigger but anyway i will suggest this room for the reasons i mention above. yes, size of the bathroom, particularly the shower area. rooms on the smaller side. The room was very small. the toilet. there was hardly any seating room !. bathroom was very very small as where the bedrooms although usual for a City hotel. Breakfast was okay but should have been included in price and we had to pay daily taxes which were not that clear. the room was clean and nice, but extremely small. Room was too small. noise. some of the staff seemed a bit arrogant, (though the majority were very sweet and helpful). The beds are extremely soft, thus bad for back aches and comfort. Breakfast is over priced.The bed is much too soft.

Information about the area

The hotel is located on the quiet Plantage Middenlaan, in the centre of Amsterdam, across from the Artis Zoo. Within walking distance from the hotel you will find Waterloo Square, with the Stopera theatre and famous flee market, and the Rembrandt Square, with its bars, restaurants and clubs. Besides the Artis Zoo, you will also find the Hermitage Museum, Carré Theatre and the botanical gardens of Amsterdam in the direct surroundings of the hotel. The Central Station is only a 15-minute tram ride away. The RAI convention centre is only 25 minutes away and Schiphol Airport 35 minutes.

- Take tram number 9 or 14 to Artis Zoo / Plantage Middenlaan.

By Car:
- Take the A10 ring road and depart at exit S-113.
- After the exit follow directions for the city centre.
- After about 2.5 km you will come to the roundabout near the Tropenmuseum; turn to the left.
- Take the first crossing to the right.
- After about 300 metres the Lancaster Hotel is situated on the left side.
