We stayed two night during first week of January. The staff was very friendly, the hotel is a small building (old mansion on Vondel Park), but is very nice. The rooms were modern with recent updates. Tasteful and not tacky. The breakfast for 9 euros is a great deal!. Excellent location, nice quiet room, excellent service.friendly and helpfull staff. Very friendly and helpfull, and ideal to explore Amsterdam. Tram Number 2 stop very close to Hotel and the Vondelpark.all reviews »

First the location is perfect - right next to Vondel Park in a quiet neighborhood, but within walking distance to most places. The hotel and rooms are very cozy and comfortable. Staff is amazing and breakfast is delicious. really very friendly and helpful staff, room was nice, we liked having a bath tub, details such as little map of amsterdam when we got there and the books about amsterdam in the room,. Great location! Easy access from Central station. Friendly, helpful staff. Bad smell in hallway outside our room. rooms are somewhat run down, bathrooms are small and a bit dangerous, Internet connection was spotty. no hair dryer... noise above us all night..[location of our room].i would have liked a room on the upper floor but was too tired to ask and didn't feel like moving!yes a charming place... a room with 2 beds is too small. better to have one large bad - it will be more space in the room.Bad isolation between rooms. Could hear the neibours talk. incorrect time given on booking for vacating room said on booking 12md actually was 11.00 am. caused some confusion with hotel.I really didn't feel that the hotel was good value for money. Although the room was clean and the bed very comfortable, it was tiny, with barely room to move around. Also, at €155 a night (€175 on Saturday), not including tourist tax, you would hope to have at least a hair dryer in your room and not have to ask for the communal one. One more small comment - the hotel reeked of cigarette smoke. No hairdryer in room. Small rooms. During the rain, sealing and walls were leaking. During summer season, it’s hot and humid. The room needed modernising eg. new carpets/bathroom.yes I must say the rooms are cramped, and I had to pay more then expected for a relatively small room. Could do with updating, the sound proofing of the rooms is poor and there was a sewage smell in the bathroom.Superior double room not really at superior level, small room and smallbathroom; I was charged for 10 euros extra for miscalculated vat.

You are driving on the A2 (Utrecht-Amsterdam)
From Schiphol/Den Haag
You are driving on the A4 (passing the Airport; direction Amsterdam)
You choose the A10: the Amsterdam ringroad
Subsequently you take exit 'South' (Zuid)(quarter S108)
At the traffic lights you turn right into the 'Amstelveenseweg'
You drive straight-ahead and on your left-side you will pass the Olympic stadium
After the statium you turn right
At the traffic lights you turn left (you are still driving on the Amstelveenseweg) Subsequently, at the roundabout you go straight ahead (half way round)
At the traffic lights you turn right (now you are on the 'Koninginneweg')
Continue straight ahead and follow the road. This will go over in the 'Willemparksweg'. You will find a sign of the Atlas Hotel at your left hand. Here you will turn left into the Van Eeghenstraat. You will find the hotel in front of you
Public transport and parking space
You can reach the Atlas Hotel with Tram # 2 from Central station. The hotel is a one minute walk from the tramstop Jacob Obrechstraat.
There is a shuttle service available from Schiphol airport (frequency two times per hour). Timetable available at request.
