  The hotel is well located, very close to the main train station and the Gion district, the beautiful and traditional part of Kyoto. The rooms are really stunning, with a wonderful fusion of traditional and modern Japanese design. The wi-fi was the best we experienced on our Japan trip and even good enoug - The rooms at Kanra are visually beautiful. The design is typically Japanese and the management have put a lot of thought and money into the aesthetics and decor. They make beautiful use of hidden lighting to give the room subtely and sophistication. The size of the room is enormous by any standard, let alone Japanese, and the bed is separated from the tatami mat TV room by a bamboo screen. The bed is so comfortable and the pillows just right.

  Though the room was very very small it really doesnt mind because in this hostel common places are the best I've always been. There are a lof of showers for men and woman,they are clean and you are provided of shampoo and everything you need, even there is a room with a lot of hairdryers. The breakfast is simple but enough, tea, bread, some bakery... what people say » ..and then you can eat or dinner in the kitchen with others travelers. Staff are very very nice, they are very helpful and they sell bus pass, rent bi - very comfortable, affordable , I like the environment , and design of the building, where there is a special garden where smokers puff and not disturb the rest of the people. very well planned and well ventilated. most happy of all free nice breakfast and wifi on every floor. clean and well organized toilet, except I think you need proper signage of ladies and men's toilet coz many a time the men entered the wrong toilet coz there is one small signage on one side of the door, means sometimes
