We booked a non smoking room. When we arrived in the room it was smelting smoke. We got a new room right away which was a lot better. Although in Japan it seems difficult to get a really non smoking room. Especially in hotels which exist a little longer. However this hotel is perfect base for exploring Kumamoto and surrounding.

  The staff was very amiable. The rooms are okay considering the room size standards for Japan but for a foreigner it somewhat small. The location is perfect especially if you like to exercise/run since it is close to the riverside where you can do exercise. - Good location and great service team

  Staff was very helpful and went out of their way to help me pack gifts I brought from home to ship to another prefecture in Japan. The location was very convenient, right next door to the train station. Each morning we woke up early walked over to the convenience store (opened 24 hours) and bought our coffee, breakfast and snacks for our train ... what people say » ride. - Such a wonderful hotel, the best hotel in Japan for Service with such friendly staff. Kumamoto was a great place to stay with the hotel being right next to the station. We would have loved to stay an extra night as there is plenty to do in this lovely castle city. Rooms really comfortable and spacious. We will stay here again.

  a very comfortable, reasonally priced, great location hotel. service was great and enjoy the morning breakfast they provided for free. thought that more than i expected and the selections were delicious. followed that stay with a stay at nagano toyoko-in eika-mae. enjoyed both stays and look forward on next trip to japan to stay in toyoko-inns. -... what people say » The hotel is positioned near the JR Station, close to the tram stop. The main restaurants around are located at the last floor of the train station. The room was reasonably spacious, considering the Japanese standards, perfectly clean and quiet. The staff knows some English, just enough to manage the deal. Free Japanese breakfast. Recommended.
