The staff were all pleasant and helpful, the location incredible, really central and beautiful architecture, homely room, breakfast was fantastic consistently. full of happy guests!. the staff went out their way to ensure we had breakfast before we left early for train. They started earlier to enable us to do this.Friendly staff I think it was a husband and wife set up, clean room with nice bathroom, small BandB but a great location.

The proprietor was very nice and helped us get settled very easily. The rooms were recently renovated with all the comforts of home. Everything was clean and it had an amazing view of the Tuscan countryside. Piazza del Campo was a short 5-minute walk away and the place really gave you central location to everything!. Some of the negative comments about some street noise from web reviews were correct but this was compensated for by the view from my room and all of the other positive features of the hotel. I would recommend it as a good place to stay in Siena.There wasn't always a staff member who was available. wish the breakfast was more... filling. Like many places in Italy, the bed/matress was very saggy, and there was no place to hang a garment bag. no minibar; in the morning there is some noise because the breakfast room is close to the rooms;. Four floor walkup. No elevator. only sweets fro breakfast, now white jogurt (all with fruit additives). Breakfast was lovely but later than we had been told so a few guests hadto hurry in order to be ready for pre-arranged outings.Be aware also, noelevators (which isn't unusual),so a few flights of stairs to negotiate. the only slight problem was the check-in time.We knew about the 3 pm check-in but you have to organise your travel plans carefully to get there and not have the problem of what to do with your cases if you get there too early.bathroom needed a good scrub--- the shower recess tiles were not clean. BandB is in quite a busy area so tended to be a bit noisy til late at night.Some street noise. better breakfast. Improve the breakfast and the employers must speak english. Dificult to get by car to the hostel.

Travelling information

On Foot:
You can easily reach the B&B San Francesco by directly walking through Porta Ovile, turning left and walking up a steep hill called Via del Comune in the Bruco Caterpillar Contrada. At the top of the hill, just opposite the Bruco fountain, is the entrance to the B&B San Francesco.

By Car:
- Turn left in front of Porta Ovile and just down this road you will find a multilevel car park.
- Park here and walk back to the Porta Ovile escalator, which will take you up (free of charge) to the Piazza San Francesco, and you have practically arrived after crossing the piazza.
