The staff were fantastic - it was our honeymoon and they upgraded us to an executive room and on the third day was my wife's birthday which we had not told them and yet they must have seen the birthday cards in our room as we got back from a day of touring Rome and there was a lovely cold bottle of Prosecco and some chocolates from the hotel as a birthday present!. Good location. At first we thought that it's pretty far from all the sights, but then we recognized that location is really great - calm tourist-free zone and close to all the atrractions. Romms at the hotel are also very great, exactly as they were presented at the pictures.

The Ripa Hotel is a design hotel, the rooms are comfortable, staff is friendly and the breakfast buffet is very good. The hotel is modern and has great acommodation. Evening staff was very rude and could have been friendlier. The hotel is located in Trastevere but not on the nice side and there is a very strange parking lot near the hotel with homeless people. A relatively minor point but it did raise some security issues for us. The 6th floor rooms were not advertised on the website, therefore had no idea what i was staying in. I would also have expected the hotel to have a pool of some kind.Location is however a bit removed from Rome's historic centre and all the main sights. Hotel is also hard to find. Poor shower drainage. Had 4 guests / 2 rooms one had bad plumbing and wet carpet. They were moved but same in that room also. It advertised that there was a cafe and bar opened until 11 pm, not once during our 4 nights stay was this opened. One reason we chose to stay at the Ripa Hotel.internet facilities are minimal and expensive. No iron in the room which left us with creased cloths all holiday!. Breakfast was not in the four star standard. Because of that, we didn't order any other meals in the hotel. Plus, the street of the hotel itself is not very safe for pedestrians (due to works and ...). The rooms are nice but with some flaws (like: leaking shower). Hotel gives a bit the impression there is a star going to fall of - although I don't think stars are too important. location not fantastic but not bad either. lack of restaurant; room was not thoroughly cleaned and garbage emptied. Tub/shower was too small for Americans. Sofa was uncomfortable. Poor Air-con in bedrooms (didn't work). Front desk staff could be more helpful. No notification that the bar/cafe would be closed for renovations and there was no alternative suggested or provided.In a cool neighborhood, but very far walk from any major site. The location was a bit far from the main attractions. There was also nobar. I think it was being renovated but that was not advertised.small bugs in room. The only thing that I did not like was my shower it was small and it overflowed onto the bathroom floor and also, that their was only one iron in the whole hotel and it was broken at least this is what we were told by the hotel staff.Hotell doesnt look so nice from the outside. lack of storage in rooms plus door to roof terrace needed attention. not so nice surroundings, does not look nice from the outside. no iron available. prices very high in the cafe. breakfast didnt seem to be included in the price even though it was stated. The building on the outside, it was maintained pourly. bathroom. It is by no means a 4* the pictures create a false representation of the actual. The club, Suite, that is supposedly part of the hotel was closed. The elevators are too small and definately not suitable for people with even the slightest form of claustrobia. The hotel was not as close to the city center as we thought it would be.Most of the staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. To need to repair the room again. The rooms are a bit rumbled-down.noisy, some staff rude. Rooms need a little maintenance.Bathroom could do with a bit of decoration.Could have been informed that the clocks were being changed on the Sat/Sun. !!?. The bar of the hotel had a poor range of alcoholic drinks and in small quantities.There is no comfortable place to sit and relax in the communal areas. Our room was adjoined to another and we were disturbed by the other guests nocturnal noises which was rather annoying. The staff did take action after we made a complaint, though. stale pastries in the am; no closets, no drawers for clothing, only stylish storage without enough hangers.
