Relais 6 Via Tolmino is an elegant 1930s building in a pleasant residential neighbourhood in Rome. It features cosy lounges, an outdoor terrace and gym. The city centre is a 15-minute bus ride away.
Once a wartime hideaway, Relais 6 later became the headquarters for Allied intelligence during World War II. It now has an interesting exhibition of original war artefacts.
Rooms are bright, spacious and air conditioned. They come with free Wi-Fi, an LCD TV and a minibar. Each one has a private bathroom with hairdryer and toiletries.
A buffet breakfast and made to order coffee and cappuccino are served each morning. In summer, breakfast can be enjoyed out in the courtyard with fountain.
Drinks and snacks are available throughout the day and there are plenty of good restaurants in the area for dinner.
The impressive Villa Torlonia is 2 minutes' walk away, while you have great bus links along Via Nomentana to the centre and Termini Train Station.
Excellent staff, from reception to breakfast, just excellent!!! Perfect
value for money hotel!!! Rome has many hotels in restored old buildings
but this should be the model of keeping all the atmosphere of old ages
and giving all the now days comfort and facilities..Really good
breakfast (great breakfast time too- 8:00-10:30). Walking from there to
Rome's center is a good 1 hour journey throught beautιful buildings
that you have to do it once! In 3 min walk ther is
Sant'Agnese/Annibaliano metro. all reviews
What a lovely hotel. Friendly helpful staff who made you feel so welcome. The room was small but well decorated with air con and free safe. Just a note for others, we spent two days in darkness without realising you could open the heavy shutters over the windows by pressing a button next to the bed!! Breakfast was plentiful with scrambled eggs as well as continental style food. The hotel is not in central rome but only a 10 min walk from a new metro stop S Agnes which takes you to central rome .
The room was amazing.....we were upgraded to a junior suite and there
was so much room and the suite was extremely well-appointed and
beautiful. Cocktail hour was casual, friendly and made you feel
connected to the hotel. The breakfast buffet was the best and widest
variety I have ever seen. Thank you, thank you for the scrambled and
hard boiled eggs!! Amazing historical collection of artifacts that,
again, truly personalized the experience of this hotel.
The hotel is placed in a quiet area of Rome, far from noisy traffic and crowded places. The hotel itself is quiet, hospitable, clean, nicely decorated. The room, even though it was small (in my case this was according to the expectations), was clean (and kept like this daily) and all the facilities in it were working properly. The services provided by the hotel's personnel were very good. The overall price/offering ratio is excellent.
Lovely hotel in a quiet residential area, very stylish, huge comfy bed with crisp white sheets, lovely bathroom, elegant bar and lounge, wide choice at breakfast including lots of high quality pastries and fresh fruit, staff very helpful, roof top garden, well equipped gym facilities. In my experience Rome is an expensive city, this hotel is a real find: good value, elegant and has a luxurious feel without the luxury price tag.
This hotel is like a B&B, although it has 29 rooms it is very homi and cozy. The location is perfect, just a few bus stops away or metro. It is nice to get away from the main tourist areas in the center of Rome. Also, there are a lot of great restaurants in walking distance at very reasonable prices (where 95% of locals eat) The area is very upscale making it great for a stroll after those yummy Italian meals.
A really lovely hotel in an excellent, quiet location, surrounded by trees and other beautiful buildings, yet easy to access by metro or bus. Direct metro to the Colosseum. Direct bus to Piazza Navona etc. There is a super little bar and sitting room, a roof terrace with gym and excellent breakfast. Would definitely go back.
After staying there we understand why this hotel has so brilliant rating. Everything was cool, metro station close, staff - excellent, helpful, great breakfast, comfortable room, nice bathroom, great wifi in a room. We cannot say anything bad, we got this hotel via letsbookhotel.com for 54 euros and it's amazing price.
The staff was very helpful. The rooms was clean and comfortable. The
neighborhood was residential and quiet. Not a crazy tourist area. We had
our best meals in the restaurants in this area - not a lot of choices
but all were good. Easy bus/metro availability to get to the tourist
areas and experience ancient Rome.
Very friendly and helpful staff.A lovely relaxed feel to the place. The breakfast was excellent and we were able to eat outside. The area was just right - easy access to the city centre, and somewhere quieter to come back to in the evening. We will return again and have already started telling our friends about it.
Absolutely everything - 2 minute walk to a bus stop with buses going to
the station and main city centres. The hotel was beautiful, clean, warm
and the breakfast was amazing! There was drinking water, the hotel
provides a map for the city. Nothing bad or negative to say about this
wonderful hotel. Would return!.
Location was excellent and very close to a metro station and bus stop.
The rooms were spacious and bathrooms were nice.
Breakfast was lovely and alot of variety.
Polite and helpful staff
Tours recommended by the hotel were excellent
Nearby restaurants recommended by the hotel were excellent as well.
Unfortunately we only had one night in this wonderful hotel. Literally everything here is at the highest level: the interior of the hotel, comfortable and spacious rooms (I recommend to choose a room with a terrace), friendly staff, delicious and varied breakfast, which is rare for Italy.
The staff were friendly, informative and always willing to help, nothing was too difficult. They had metro tickets and could arrange almost anything you needed. Location is a little far from the city centre, however, there is now a brand new metro station just nearby.
could not afford this hotel if it wasn't for the great rate we got online. 70% off! Breakfast was amazing. Every morning we were asked what we types of coffee or tea we wanted as soon as sat down. The desk staff accommodated us in English with out hesitation.
This hotel was wonderful. The staff was friendly and rooms were comfortable and there were many choices of food for breakfast. It's a bit of a walk with large bags to a metro, however not too bad and there is a bus stop very near the hotel.
this is a very inviting and comfortable hotel. The staff are courteous and helpful, and facilities up to date and working!
Despite the intensive August heat outside, the room was lovely and cool. The abundant breakfast buffet was very nice.
Everything, the staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and of an unusual design which we both loved and the hotel was easily reachable by public transport from the centre so we felt that we had a more authentic experience.
Close. to bus and metro for main station and tourist buses.
Quiet location away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Staff were most helpful. Breakfast was adequate, also some good restaurants within walking distance.
Very good in all respects. Breakfast excellent; very clean and comfortable; staff very helpful. Although did not do evening meals as such, there was prepared food in the bar area each night to eat when buying drinks.
The location in a great residential area. Buses and metro were in easy walking distance. Our room had a balcony and there was an outside patio also. The bathroom was very large.
Breakfast was good.
I liked this hotel immediately; friendly staff...comfortable clean room... generous breakfast included...close to shopping and good area to walk. Perfect for our three day. two night trip to Rome.
The place was clean and a nice breakfast in the morning. The staff was excellent and helpful. The WW II museum was very interesting and an added bonus. Bathrooms/showers were very nice and modern.
The proximity to the bus stations and the Metro station.
Amazing staff, very helpful and informative.
The design and the vintage accessories of the hotel.
Home made Italian goodies for breakfast.
Bedrooms were comfortable and well appointed with an excellent air conditioning system. The lounge area was relaxing and friendly. The staff were excellent when we required medical assistance.
Helpful Friendly staff Nice decor & furnishings Comfortable rooms.
Good breakfast. Calm & relaxed atmosphere - not busy but not too
quiet. Safe & tidy neighbourhood.
Cleanliness
Proximity to new underground station
Friendly and helpful staff
Nice district and good facilities
Far enough out for peace, quick enough to get in to the centre.
Staff very helpful, specially Jocomo. Clean hotel. Free minibar and light snacks in the evening at the hotel lounge. Walking distance to the metro.
The accommodation was excellent the staff were all helpful and courteous. The hotel is close to public transport and is great value for money.
Beautiful hotel in reasonably central location. Very clean and great staff. Breakfasts really good. Easy transport links into centre.
I loved the quiet walk back to the hotel since it is just Outside of the city. I also loved the delicious breakfast in the morning.
Lovely hotel, staff we lovely. Extremely helpful .. Lovely food and hotel very well presented. Cannot fault the service.
Great hotel in a quiet location only a 10eur ride from the city center. Worth a visit for the evening bar snacks alone.
Liked everything - quiet location, close to metro station.
Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Hotel very comfortable.
Staff were always helpful. Room was beautiful and clean. Metro and bus were easy to use and breakfast was delicious.
cleanliness.
breakfast selection.
politeness.
helpful when asked.
the ww2 museum.
free snacks in the evening.
Efficient, unfailingly polite, English-speaking staff. Excellent breakfast with coffee made to order.
Staff were great, breakfast was excellent, hot and cold food, fresh juices. Would stay with them again.
Location was in a nice quiet area yet close enough to city centre. Good bus and metro service nearby.
The staff were very attentive and room was cleaned to a high standard
daily. Breakfast was adequate.
a wonderful hotel with friendly staff in a quiet location within easy reach of citys attractions.
Quiet neighbourhood location, with easy access via bus or metro to city centre, station, sights.
Loved the atmosphere and the staff. The hotel is gorgeous and the rooms are nice and spacious.
Great place. Really laid back with helpful and courteous staff.
Liked the decor too.
great staff, nice and helpful, and it's easy to get to city center taking B1 line.
Very comfortable, quiet hotel. Nice room and excellent breakfast.
good hotel very helpful re local resturants
local metro nearby.
Good location, well presented, friendly staff, good value.
Great position, fantastic building and forniture.
the staff were realy nice and helpfull, asome.
Nothing - it was a 100% positive experience. We are coming back to Rome
tomorrow night for our last night in Italy and tried to change our
hotel reservation to the Relais. Sadly, I don't believe there are
any openings.
The food served at breakfast was the same every morning. For a short 2-3 days travel this shouldn't be an issue, but for a longer stay (6-7 nights - like in my case) it could become boring.
The breakfast although being similar to most European ones, it could use some improvement.
Cannot say anything bad, really good hotel.
We decided to change our reservation for our last night in Italy from
here to a hotel closer to the Termini Station - this made it possible to
visit a few of the sites at night more easily as well as get less
expensive transportation in the early morning for our flight home.
Nothing!.
They had no english tv channels, BBC or a news channel would have been nice.
My one and only issue is that the desk staff only recommended a private transportation service from the hotel going to the airport at 60 Euros, instead of the typical hotel/airport shuttle service for 25 Euros which we used.
While situated in a very nice part of Rome, it is a ways away from the central attractions.
Breakfast could have been slightly more organised.
Nothing.
Hotel was very good. Location was say 7 mins walk from nearest tube, but perfectly fine for a daily trip into the city centre.
Room was quite small but this is typical in Europe.
shower could have been a little larger...but really everything else was very well done.
A little further than I thought from the Vatican and the heart of the city.
Nothing.
Just a bit too far from the centre of Rome.
Not a big issue for us, but the location is not central (approx 3km from
centre), which limits evening dining options, although we had a couple
of great reasonably priced meals locally. The new metro stn or bus stop
are no more than 5 mins walk and only €1.5 e/W. Journey into the
centre is approx 15 mins by metro. Taxi €10-12.
Nothing, it was all good!.
Limited breakfast choices.
There was nothing I didn't like.
A little out of Rome. But there's a new underground located a 5 min walk from hotel .
Missed the full English, but when in Rome....
Nothing.
Nothing.
no tea making facilities in bedroom.
no restaurant.
A common failing I'm afraid - poor soundproofing between rooms and floors.
Room was a little small for people with large cases.
No iron in room or ironing facilities. Other hotels in Rome have an ironing room.
Day tours left from the hotel early in the morning and unfortunately
they were unable to provide breakfast before we left. They gave biscuits
and jam instead.
Breakfast was fair!.
The location is residential. The metro is a bit of a walk away, as are local restaurants.
Bit far out of the centre (but only a 10 minute walk from a metro station, which is only 15 minutes from the centre. Express buses to the main station just a 2 minute walk away.).
Nothing.
