The location of the hotel is perfect - about 80 meters from Lepanto metro station. Near to the Vatican and Castle St. Angelo (10 min. Walk). The neighborhood is quiet and safe. The hotel and the rooms are very clean, modern furnitured, the bathroom is also clean and normal sized, the staff is kind and helpful. We arrived earlier then 1 P.M. when the check in starts, but they give us our room to get rest:) The breakfast is good enought. Our room has a nice sunny terrace, but there is also a bigg.
all reviews » The location is very central, 2 minutes to Lepanto metro station/bus tops, 10 - 30 minutes walking to most major sites of Rome (which is great considering the horrible public transportation network in Rome. I held a Roma pass but ended up walking all the time). The neighborhood is clean and safe, with lots of hotels and offices around so you would have no trouble walking late at night. I love the vintage design inside the hotel, and my room (the cheapest type) looks new and much more beautiful . Hotel Gerber is a lovely hotel in a nice quiet area but within walking distance of the highlights of Rome and with cafe's and restaurants in the neigbourhood. Don't expect a super modern design hotel but just a charming place with what you need and clean and comfortable. Above all the staff is very nice and friendly. The complaints on letsbookhotel.com about the breakfast are not justified if you are happy with a continental breakfast (so no cooked breakfast, but there are boiled eggs). I would. Hotel Gerber is a family-owned hotel and it's reflected in the warmth of its staff. Price includes a very decent breakfast buffet too. The hotel boasts a rooftop deck as well as a quiet patio where one can sit with a drink and make notes at the end of the day. The Hotel is located 1 blk from Lepanto Metro in a wonderful neighbourhood with shops and restaurants - easy walking distance to the Vatican. Very good location, extremely clean,all staff with one exception were friendly and did their best to make your stay pleasant. All areas of hotel decorated well,bedrooms were fantastic all u needed and clean and spacious. beds so comfy and linen nice quality. It had an enclosed veranda which was sunny. The hotel garden was secluded and restful. They also served rye bread for breakfast in addition to the usual continental fare. It was most welcome. I don't really mind this, but in case you are keen on food, keep in mind that breakfast is very plain, only bread, coffee and fruit everyday. Our air conditioner didn't get as cold as we would have liked, but then, we didn't say anything to the front desk, so it may have been our operator error. even that the internet was good but sometimes during the afternnon it was less than fair when all the hotel was crwoaded. Size of room. Shower is the size of a shoe box. You literally can can only stand in there, the moment you move your arms you hit the walls and the doors. I can't remember what i did not like as mine was a short stay. There was no hooks to hang my clothes in the shared bathroom. The room was a quite small. Liked it well. Would liked to have had tea/coffee making facilities in the room. The night receptionist could be more friendly/ helpful No soap for hand washing in the shared bathroom No safe in the single room with shared bathroom. unfriendly staff very small room old furniture bad food so far.
