  Myself and wife had a long drive to the hotel that day, having booked only the day before as we needed a location close to the ferry across to Messina. It was refreshing to be greeted by the owner whom was only too helpfull and friendly, and his daughter also.   Third time in Marco Polo and can not say anything which we did not like. This is the best place for summer vacation with children (if you are not seeking luxury case) - very beautiful view to the sea and the water in it is very clean

  The breakfast here is served on a terrace with lovely view and the buffet offered the most variety of absolutely delicious dishes I have ever experienced. Our room was on the 4th floor and basically in the attic with beams that make bumping your head a good possibility. Our bath was lovely and well lit, but our friends' shower en - I loved the staff, all sweet and helpful women, especially Francisca, Valentina, Silvana and Francesca. The rooftop terrace is a dream, sparrows circling in the sky, views of the ocean, a place to read and think and write and they serve a delicious breakfast there in the mornings -- the best I had in Italy. THe location is excellent for walking thru the town or down to the sea.

  There are many places to choose from on Capo Vaticano (just south of Tropea). We're glad we stayed at this hotel. We had a fantastic sunset view of the Stromboli volcano from our balcony.   The Sea Palace gave us a free upgrade as we arrived during a low season. We got incredible attention from Alex, even serving as our interpretor when he assisted us in locating my husbands mothers childhood home in Fuscaldo. Our trip would not have been as successful as it was without him.
