Absolutely amazing historical place. The atmosphere and ambience was out of this world! Very tranquil and serene and restful retreat. Liked it so much that we came back for a second night on our way back to the airport. The location is great!!!!! It's not far from the train station (less than 10 minutes by bus). BTW we walked from the hotel to the Pisa Tower and vice versa, it was nice.

It's fantastic hotel in real old cloister! Great atmosphere, views, interiors and very nice service. the best!!. Liked the quietness, and hardly noticed other guests except at breakfast time. Enjoyed having the monks/brothers next door and the Sunday morning 'wake up' bell ... Appreciated friendliness at reception, breakfast etc and the secure private parking. The tranquility of the spot. Except for the low flying airplanes heading for the Pisa airport until 11pm, it is very peaceful.breakfast is delicious and staff is kind support.the room facilities are simple but clean.very comfortable staying. It's a beautiful property, renervated to a very high standard in a quiet suburb of Pisa, which makes for a great night's sleep. The room kept the atmosphere of the monastery very well and the breakfasts were outstanding for Italy, where a caffe and some brioche is a more usual breakfast.The unusual setting and the peace away from the city centre.Only 10 minutes walk to centre but a very different atmosphere.Excellent restaurant only 5 minutes walk. Hotel was an old convent converted to a hotel. Very quit at night. A different ambiance - never had the opportunity to stay in a church before. Nothing in particular.The hotel is a fifteen minute walk from the center of town. In the summer that is a long hot walk. Next time I will look for something closer to town. Also the rooms at the hotel are not air conditioned. There was no screen on the window to keep out insects. This meant we had to leave the window closed at night and so we had little ventilation.Please do not write the hotel history in that detail since it may scare the guests. I would have liked to see a bar in the hotel, or at least a lounge to relax in.The nocturnal insect life. We were both very badly bitten during the night and on the 2nd night had hardly any sleep at all. We are still suffering from the effects if being bitten. It was a bit hard to use the bathrooms, and to find them!. The unexpected bells in the early morning ..only the first day !. The hotel has a lovely courtyard which is ideal for an earlyevening drink. You will have to bring your own, as there is no bar.Even a vending machine would be nice or perhaps a room fridge, soyou could bring some back and keep them chilled. I choose a room with a shared bathroom and it was a far walk.hotel was further from the centre of Pisa than we expected. Our room was not even close to what the pictures showed on the website.Unfortunately our room was not renovated in the recent years. Thepainting in the room was dirty and old. I have checked some other roomsthrough the open windows and it turned out that the other rooms are niceand clean and white so we got a bad room probably due to late booking(we booked the room on the previous day).The rooms were very basic (pillows very hard) however they were purposely designed this way to reflect their past use - ie the living quarters for the Monks. Our room was at the front of the hotel and was very noisey from through traffic. If I visit this hotel again I will request a side or rear room. Pisa Airport is getting busier all the time, so lots of planes to be (over)head. Although this is no fault of the hotel itself, but something to consider. (it does stop at night of course). The only problem i would say was it's location, a little further than most hotels but worth the hassle of finding it. Although everything could be reachd on foot,the hotel is nevertheless abit far from the city center. The staff reception werent the greatest, and its a bit far from the centre, parking was crazy when I was there. Noise from the next room in the morning.We were given two single beds instead of one double. Pillows too small.Staff could have been friendlier, they always seemed stress and bothered because you asked them for your room key. There is no internet on the hotel!. Mosquitos, even if the anti-mosquito device was inside. The room is very simple, being in an old monastery, but it's really nice. Not many things in the room, but enough for a short stay.smell at the reception, drinking from plastic cups at breakfast.
