The location was perfect, the room which we had was in another building,
but was worth the walk as it was beautifully decorated. We were
traveling with our adult daughter, and there were actually two rooms
with a pocket door between which worked great as well as a balcony with
a partial view of the ocean. The breakfast was very good in the main
building with fresh tarts, meats, cheese, croissants etc. We also were
able to enjoy coffee and croissants outside our door as well. The staff

Since we had a car, free parking was excellent. It was in a secure
garage nearby the hotel. The hotel was very close to the beach and the
shops in the area. It was a very nice room with its own balcony with
chairs that had a great ocean view. The bathroom was modern with a great
shower. Since we were located up the street from the main building where
breakfast was, they personally brought croissants and left them on a
table outside the rooms in our building so we wouldn't have to walk
anywhere.

They have an independent bathroom in the hotel where you can take a shower on departure day after spending a few hours at the beach. They provide bathroom towels and toiletries. First time I see this and that's a definitive plus.

the staff at this hotel were very helpful with my train reservations and printing my flight boarding pass. The buffet breakfast was delicious. The beds were comfortable. My laundry was sent out and returned the same evening. The taxi to the train was reserved for us. When I forgot my glasses a woman appeared at the train station with my glasses and returned them to me before I left. Love Gigante! Thank you Claudia and Anna for everything.
Great Hotel! We had our own little apartment for this trip! Very clean and spacious. Will definitely stay at Locanda Gigante again. Claudia and staff serve an awesome breakfast. Two minute walk to the beach, can't beat that! Minutes from the Monterosso train station with access to the other Cinque Terra cities. Shopping and restaurants all within walking distance from the hotel. Thanks Claudia!!.
Anna & Claudia were terrific and looked after us very well. The location is perfect - 5 min walk from the train station and 1 min walk to the beach. The continental breakfast was more than adequate with cereal, fresh & dried fruits, fresh pastries and homemade sweets, yoghurt, juices, boiled eggs etc. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for accommodation in Monterosso.
We loved the location - it was on the less crowded end of Monterosso beach, and only 1/2 block from the actual beach. The room was very nice and clean. The A/C was great and the breakfast was wonderful. Staff was very attentive to our needs and able to answer questions. I would have liked to stay longer and would stay at this small B & B again.
The staff was friendly and helpful. We had a fairy that left us fresh croissants at our door every morning, so we could have our coffee in our room or have breakfast in the breakfast room, our bathroom was modern and the shower was great. Next time in Monterosso I will stay here and I will be recomending this hotel to all my friends.
I loved everything about this hotel. The rooms were charmingly appointed, the beds and pillows comfortable. Our room had air-conditioning. Breakfasts were freshly prepared and delicious. The staff were incredibly kind and gracious. And we were a 2 minute walk to the beach. I give this hotel the highest marks.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. We were given a room with a beautiful view. The room was fabulous, the bed luxuriously comfortable and the shower was wonderful! There was a coffee machine outside our room where we could make ourselves a cappucino whenever we liked. Loved this place!!.

The hotel was right in the heart of Monterosso, a very short walk to the beach, restaurants and the train station. We also appreciated the ability of our family of four to stay in the same room.

The location was great for visiting the Cinque Terre. The concierge was very helpful with train ticket info (don't forget to validate your ticket before you get on!) and ferry information. Breakfast was nice.

the ac to work (perhaps it wasn't turned on yet for the season), and
we couldn't keep the windows open very far due to bugs since there

One of the two beds in our room was a pull-out couch that wasn't particularly comfortable. Also, the quad room was removed from the main hotel, which was inconvenient at times.
the fact that our room was a bit removed from the main building with a very steep staircase to climb up to the bedroom level (mini-apartment, very attractive otherwise). Absence of a room safe which supposedly all other rooms of this hotel do have... Hotel should warn guests to be assigned in this room ahead of time of the need for physical fitness to reach the bed level without risk or discomfort. For young people it is perfect....

I was disappointed in the room. I had read one review that talked about a room with the only window looking into the breakfast room and thought I wouldn't get that one, but I did. It was tiny, you could barely use the shower. No place to sit in the room. The only saving grace was that there were two chairs just outside of the room in the public area where we sat to read and check email. I really think there should be a discounted rate on this room - all the others seemed better.

I was a bit disappointed for the room I got as I felt that for 130 EUR (1600 ZAR) I would at least have a balcony, ocean view something. Instead I had a curtain that opened on to the breakfast area and the room was really small. I have been travelling all over Italy and I have been staying in top locations for 30-50 EUR a night with exceptional views and service. This was not the case for my stay at Locanda A Ca DU Gigante.
I didn't realize our room was going to be a semi apartment and 100
yards away from the actual hotel. We did not have access to Wi-Fi in our
room, but yet they advertised free Wi-Fi.
Location could have been better -thought it was beachside but we were way in the back of complex -staff attentive.
