Location is great. Easy walk from the train station...as long as the power stays on. We arrived in Monterosso after dark and it was raining. About half way to the hotel, the power went out in the town. Thankfully we let the hotel know what time we were arriving, as the person working the desk came out and found us. There is no sign or address on the building, so make sure to get a map from the hotel in advance to find. Room was clean. We were traveling with our daughter, and she had her own spa.
all reviews » I loved our stay at the hotel. Everything was outstanding. We got a wonderful room of 2.5 levels (bedroom, sublevel bathroom-shower, and a tiny walkout patio). The resort is also eco-conscious with reminders about the use of water and electricity. Location was great! Two steps from the beach and main street that took us to all the restaurants. Best place from our Roman Holiday!. We asked for a triple and got a suite. One bed was in a loft above the main room, so there was lots of privacy. The room was immaculate. It is located right on the beach and you can see all 5 villages from the balcony. It's two blocks from the train station. Even though they say you have to check in early, they will meet you whenever you get in to give you the keys. They have multiple apartments in a 5 floor apartment building. Everything was simple, but clean. Apartment building was located very close to the beach and they offered breakfast for a good price. There is also a big parking lot only few minutes away if you have a car (16 euro per day). Staff were helpful, friendly and cheerful. Our room did not have a view but was modern and airy. Close to the beach, shops and train station. The laundry across the road was good value at 12 euros a load, washed, dried and delivered to the hotel. The town is beautiful, welcoming. We even had an ocean view from our balcony! The diner you eat breakfast at was wonderful, very good food and plenty. Anita is pleasant. Girls who run the restaurant were wonderful and even spoke some English. Loved your location and very nice room and the view is spectacular. We were thrilled to see the lemon festival. Our room did not have a view, but I heard a lot of the room did. This hotel is in a perfect location surrounded with plenty of little shops, restaurants, and bars. Also, very close to the train station. We will stay here again if we are ever in the area!. We woke up every morning to a view of the ocean. This is an apartment bedroom owned by Anita, shes nice, her husband is nice also. This apartment building is in the newer part of Monterosso and is about 10 minute walk to the old part of town. Kitchen wasn't very clean if you are intending to cook. The shower in the bathroom leaked all over the floor. Anita was aware and said, "yes it is uneven". Shower curtain was dirty. Other than that, is was ok. You are not in the room too long due to so much to do outside. We stayed on the 6th floor and there was no elevator! It was also a little difficult to find at first because there was not any signage. It is pretty much just an apartment complex, but the room was clean and comfortable. nothing we didn't like - although there was no lift (not a drama at all - just a heads up incase you've got a lot of luggage). There are ants in the room... Their office is hard to find. Sound travelled when people talked in the hallway. There were no towel racks so the towels never dried and the bathroom was damp. No wastebasket in the room. TV did not work, but I think that is only because the hotel is newly refurbished. We did not want to watch it anyway. WiFi access is also important now, as most hotels in Europe now offer it. Busy area, street noise was quite loud. Nothing that I did not already expect. It's a budget choice apartment building 20m from the beach. Don't expect a standard hotel, it's 2 apartments and a cafe used as reception. 60steps to get to room!. not easy to find, and no elevator, we have to carry our luggages upstairs. No wifi. I was concerned by peoples comments that this isn't a hotel, which it isn't, but you don't need a hotel in Monterosso. the accommodation was perfect, I was given all the details I needed and then able to go to the tourist info 3 doors up at the train station for any further info I needed during my stay. Reception staff is kind of rude... 64 stairs to reach the room. It was very hard to find. Needs better directions. Pricey. Noisy neighbours, thin walls, tricky to find. Shower curtain - water leaked onto the floor occassionally. The room was a bit dusty. 2 single beds had been put together, so sometimes you'd find yourself in the gap. Hard bed. The 'second bed' was a little sketchy and as a result we shared beds. The rooms were small and basic which is OK in good weather but not in the rain. Most things were just opening for spring and perhaps our rooms had been closed for a while but we had an inundation of ants.maybe Anita didn't have time to get rid of them before we arrived. Up the stairs 4 levels, abit hard if you have big bags but probably a good warm up for the hike anyway. The hot water didn't work for 2 consecutive days but upon calling they had a technician there in 10 mins. The outdoor movie theatre was right across the road from our room and played a movie every night till about 11 pm. Not too bad as we went out for dinner and explored the town till after the movie. The description was sea facing room, however, only a little bit of the sea was visible. And also the bathroom was a little impractical in terms of lack of place to hang towels and so on. Check in was difficult considering the time of checking. My wife and I arrived in Monterosso around 10:30pm. We wandered around Monterrosso for about an hour before we found the check-in location. The check-in address states a difference address number on google than on reservation. There were no services at reception such as tourist information, maps, brochures, restaurant recommendations etc. lots of stairs and no lift, but if you just want a lean room and hot shower it's great. its in an apartment block so it was very noisy. No wifi. The place to check in is hard to find. The only thing we did not like was that the bathroom did not have a something to stop the water so it was soked everyday. Manager very rude...... No wi fi.......at all........you must specify the room type.. Sea view does not mean you can see the ocean...... They do not provide wifi, and breakfast is not included. Hard to contact room manager, lots of stairs to manage luggage, not a great deal of space for any more than two people, no fridge.
