The facilities were excellent, and a very helpful staff made it even better. We had a double room, and though it was a little tight, it was very comfortable, modern and clean. The location was excellent in my opinion - about a 10-15 minute walk from the train station, but right in the heart of town with shops and restaurants right downstairs. The breakfast was also impressive - breads, croissants, cheeses, cold cuts, fruits, yogurts, cereals, eggs, and of course coffees of all sorts. The hi.
all reviews » Hotel Margherita is the 3rd hotel I have stayed in while visiting Monterosso over the last 12 years or so. I would definitely recomment all, but for different reasons. Hotel Margherita is the largest of the 3 and while I feel like I "sold out" in choosing this one, the price is what helped me make my decision. I love the location. Hm is located on the Main Street in Monterosso but up far enough to not be in the absolute middle of the visitors. I love the outside, sleek appeal of the hotel. In t. This was a modern hotel with quite a good breakfast meaning there was a variety of foods, unlike the typical Italian cafes, trattorias, cafeterias, restaurants or any other type of place that serve basically the same food any time of the day or night so you can eat something other than pizza, pasta or pannini! I had been traveling for about 5 weeks so air conditioning and a tv were a welcome change as I have been staying at convents for a few weeks. Apparently beach towels are available at the . Great location and friendly staff. Nice lobby with a bar and very decent continental breakfast. Our room was pleasant if plain. Beds were a little hard but it was clean and sufficient. The bathroom was huge and very clean and remodeled. We enjoyed a before dinner glass of wine at the bar and a limoncello after dinner in the lobby. The location is good but it is up a short hill to get there but close to great restaurants and shops in a charming area of town. This is a great hotel in a great location. Very central. The location of Hotel Margherita is excellent - only a 150m from the beach and coast line of Monterosso. It is surrounded by fantastic restaurants and captures the essence and vibe of this gorgeous town. It is an excellent place to stay if you wish to experience the Cinque Terre. The room in which we stayed had a large balcony which was fantastic. The room size and facilities were all of a high standard. I was particularly impressed on the attention staff paid to detail and ensuring the hotel was spotless. A real treat. Modern, up-to-date hotel with comfortable rooms, friendly and helpful staff. Quiet at night as it's off the main street, but still only a short walk from the train station. Breakfast is bountiful with a wide variety of choices. Many things to like about this hotel including the dual position 115 or 230 volt wall plug in the bathroom. Efficient and friendly staff, comfortable accommodation, very nice breakfast, no restaurant in hotel but bar and outside terrace available all day, and plenty of nice restaurants nearby, a good base to explore the Cinque Terre. My room had a small balcony which was nice to sit on, although it didn't have a view. The hotel has obviously been updated since the landslide and is looking good. Most of the staff were very nice including Vanessa and I think her name was Angela. There was just one young woman at reception who wasn't exactly atypical of the inhospitable Italian style. Some Italians are wonderful and some are very weirdly rude. This gal, whose name I will not mention, should not be directly working with customers of any business. We liked everything thing except the hard beds and well used bedspreads. But hard beds are the Italian way so that is very common. A group of women with us got an older room on the ground floor that had not been renovated so they were not as happy as we were. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room. Apart from this little niggle, everything was great. The noise level, depending on who was staying on the floor, did sometimes travel at night and could be a little disruptive to sleeping. Couldn't stay longer!. Room is comfortable, but basic, and not designed for spending a lot of time in, as I had to one day as I was sick. Walls are very thin, you can hear a lot of noise from adjoining rooms. Nothing about the hotel. Some tracks closed under repair but was still able to explore the towns and some of the alternative walks,. Rooms were a little small but this is typical for the region. My bed was a little hard but despite this I slept well. nothing. Nothing to dislike about this hotel. Would stay there again. Disappointing view from balcony. The adjacent market garden, although interesting occasionally had unpleasant smells. The staff, except for a Canadian, were unhelpful and disinterested in assisting. Having to leave!. Nothing. Coffee pot in the room would have been nice but breakfast made up for it. We had Internet problems, especially in our room. We would have enjoyed more of the fresh fruits we saw in the market at the breakfast table, but the breakfast was really good anyway. The hotel was a little farther away from the train station than anticipated and that was indicated in the information on the web site. The only problem with this hotel is the very uncomfortable beds. We are not picky but this was the worst bed I have ever slept in. It felt like we were sleeping on a board. Out side of that the hotel is great. Nothing. Tip. Be very careful with Train timetables. Trains cancelled without warning. Hard bed, and very small shower. Air con was a bit noisy, humming... The bed mattress was thin and uncomfortable along with the flat pillows. The lobby of the hotel is very nice, when I walked into my room it was bare and seemed like they did not finish decorating. There is no place in the bathroom to put your toiletries. Loud Hard bed No iron. All was goos. Staff disinterested. Small rooms and noisy at night.
