The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, even going out of their way to use English to help us understand things better. The breakfasts had a lot to offer and a good variety. Was a good way to start the day. The hotel is into green concepts with the soaps, shampoos, and recycling. I especially liked that given that the hotel is on the sea and the oceans of the world are suffering the most from humanity's pollution. all reviews » The ability to chill on the balcony with prosecco and nibbles purchased from the supermarket we passed walking back from the train station after a busy few hours in Roma. Train takes 30 mins and the ticket 1.5 Euro taking you anywhere in Rome, We will definitely return when we need a Rome fix, choosing to stay in Ostia fir the chill. Clean and comfortable, complimentary prosecco and strawberries on arrival, excellent buffet breakfast, good location and 30 mins to Rome by train. Staff very friendly and helpful especially the shuttle driver who was very informative and pointed out areas of Interest on the journey. Would highly recommend this hotel. The breakfast was excellent with many choices. In order to leave on the 7 a.m. shuttle to the airport, we needed to eat breakfast early and were pleasantly surprised to find the whole selection available to us. We asked for a room with a view and did indeed have a nice view with a private balcony that was roomy. . Everything was so great the staff was excellent we will stay there again when we return. It did have jacuzzi though access times were limited. Location. Airport pick-up (though an extra). In order to expand the green concept and save water, the towels should not be changed out every day but rather every other day. The size of the standard room was a bit small and tight, but that is probably a European thing. Shower size was definitely small, but do-able for an average size person. The room and bathroom were extremely clean, and straightened every day, so really can't complain. Nothing negative to say. The hotel itself was excellent. There weren't many restaurants nearby, however. . Could not think of anything I did not like. No fault of hotel but the banks wouldn't change our sterling to euro's!. Instant coffee machine in breakfast room (only bad coffee I've ever had in Italy). For 3 people I felt the room was a tiny bit small but I liked the price. The hotel blocked the sum of booking from 2 credit cards and refused to cancel it. So inconveniencies were when we had to pay additional money for the room when we left it. At night seems like hell comes out of the ground. I don't know what happens there in the hotel-casino, poker club or smth like this but it was such a noise right in front of our room. The sadest thing -the staff could not fix this problem, so- sleepless night-all we got at night while staying in the hotel. Cramped quarters. Not the hotel's fault, but we couldn't exchange any money in Ostia - anywhere!. hard to get immediate attention from staff stairs & level changes showers were a bit small. Room too cold. Allocation of rooms was a bit hit and miss. I didn't like the fact that there was no plugs in the room to charge mobiles/battery's. The only one available was the shaver one in the bathroom. Also I would have preferred that on booking the airport shuttle on departure the reception would have informed me that there was a charge and not free as advertised. The area /place itself is very dirty .Weeds growing on the paths and generally not looked after . Very narrow twin beds. On a muggy May day, I was informed the a/c would not be operating until June. They did not even have a portable fan to move air around. As a result, we had to keep the windows open and constant traffic noise caused a poor night's sleep. Also, we could not connect to their wi-fi system. Television ....could not find any English at all ..... the shower pipe broken, washbasin partially blocked, beach chair on the balcony dirty and with cloth damaged, tv very small; channels well working RAI 1, 2 3. Problem of tune for the others. Shower needs a bit of renovations. Noisy people and old decor. the hotel didn't quite deserve 3 stars, it is more 2. Though the rooms was spacious, the bathroom looks old, there is no view whatsoever, and you can hear every noise coming from the hallway. Breakfasts had limited choices and juices 'colored water'. The hotel had few guests but staff would not move us to a room with a sea view. Hotel's shuttle driver asked what airline we were using then dropped us off 2 terminals away. Basic facilities. Off-season; not many guests, or people about.
