Before staying at La Papessa we read reviews on the lift that is small and erratic in its operation. Now we know that the lift is an antique but very functionable,it was quite an experience and a showpiece.   Such a lovely b n b. The location is really nice - away from the busy streets of the centro storico. We felt like we were living with the locals but also had plenty nearby shops/restaurants. The staff were very lovely and made the effort to speak to us every day. The breakfast was amazing! A table full of fresh fruit, fresh juice, pastries and bre... what people say » ad each day. We would come out of our room to it all set out for us - no impersonal buffet. We stayed on the 6th floor (reached by an authentic elevat - Great B&B, good location as most attractions reachable by foot, no noise, many restaurants close by. Very pleasant and helpful staff. I did not meet the owners eye to eye, but did ask few extra's to make my stay more special and they happily helped , I even got nicer room as expected ..I would definelly reccomend this place to stay in Rome..Thank you Mariana for beautiful breakfast :)
