Located within 15 acres of park-land and surrounded by olive, pine and oak trees, this hotel originally served as the guest quarters of the Certosa dei Galluzo Monastery in 1400.

The building was enlarged in the 19th century and renovated along with other buildings on the property to make a total of 59 rooms and 6 suites. The rooms and suites overlook the magnificent park setting surrounding them, and have a view of the Tuscan hills and the Certosa.

Staff were excellent, location and setting very good. Pleasant country surroundings and pool area. the place itself is nice. Seemed to cater more for special evets rather than for tourist. Great hotel but too far out of time for easy commute. launge is too small, staff not friendly enough(head waitter especially).

The Villa of Relais Certosa was originally the guest quarters of the Certosa dei Galluzo Monastery, one of the most important monasteries in Europe and a destination of pilgrimages. The monastery hosted hundreds of religious scholars, and, before the Napoleonic pillages, preserved over 500 exquisite works of art. Even today, one can admire several of these works of art when visiting this antique Monastery, still occupied by the Cistercian monks. It was renovated along with other buildings on the property to make a total of 59 rooms and 6 suites, some decorated in rustic Tuscan style and some modern.
