  We were pleasantly surprised by this one. I expected a backpacker hostel-type experience, but our room was on par with the nicer B&Bs and hotels we've stayed at. The staff were friendly at check-in and helped us arrange a cab to the ferry port the next day. We were staying at there hotel and thought food might not be good. We were pleasantly WRONG. All but the last of 3 days the food was excellent (we had breakfast, lunches and dinners on various days).   My friend and I arrived at around 10.20am, we were soaking wet from the morning downpour and there was a twin room ready, they checked us in straight away. The bar was lovely, great service and reasonably priced, tasty food. We went to Dublin for a concert, if we had to go again, we would def stay at the Mount Herbert Hotel again.   I've used the Ferryman on a regular basis during 2013, weekly at one stage...it's simply great value for money...very central location beside IFSC, Spencer Dock and Grand Canal Dock. Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, O2 and city centre within walking distance or a short bus or taxi ride. The room had a lovely view of the Liffey. The beds were comfy and the rooms cleaned each day. The manager helped us with our luggage, as did the breakfast staff when we were leaving. Ten out of ten for the staff - they were great. The hotel is close to the city, we walked to O'Connell St and Temple Bar, easy walk and very safe.
