I stayed in the Harding hotel for one night recently with two friends. This hotel is in a great location. Our room was spacious and surprisingly very modern. This is the third hotel I have stayed in in Dublin this year and this was my favourite. It was excellent value for money, over 50 euro cheaper than similar hotels in Dublin that we priced. Most importantly for me the room was spotlessly clean. The receptionist was friendly and welcoming. We arrived 40 minutes before the check in time but.
all reviews » Good location. 10 minute walk from the city centre. Very nice hotel, it has a bar and cafe/resteraunt attached. The bar let us charge a load of drinks to the room when we ran out of cash - Im not sure if thats a good thing or a bad thing. It was good at the time, but not so good when we got the bill on check-out. The room was small but very nice. Be careful of the shower - its very powerfull and the shower curtain isnt stong enough to hold it, so if you leave your shoes on the floor they Wil. We booked into the harding hotel after the bridge house cancelled our booking, it must have been a blessing in disguise, the hotel is in the perfect position for the city centre and temple Bar, the staff were really friendly and helpful and even let us check in 3 hours early as we arrived early. With it being st Patricks day there were a lot of road closures and the staff were reslly helpful ensuring we got out and to the airport in plenty of time. Would definitely stay here again. The location was brilliant, most of the sights of Dublin are in walking distance. The Airlink stops just around the corner, as well as a lot of other busses. The room had a decent size and offered everything you might need from a fridge to a trouser press. It was quiet, when you don't count the churchbells. The room was clean, but couldn't maybe need a little refurbishment. The staff was friendly and helpful. Definitely a recommendation. The hotel was very clean and great value for money! I liked that they put some general history about the place and also a guide of where to go shopping and which restaurants to visit in their information book in the rooms. The location is also brilliant - it's close enough to walk to O'Connell street but far away enough from the very centre to not have any city noise. A very comfortable hotel at the edge of the Temple Bar district. Comfortable clean rooms. The staff were fantastic and always there with advice, information or just a chat. I loved that this place is attached to a pub and a restaurant that both served great meals. We were in a back room so I never heard the bells that others have complained about. The staff were really helpful and friendly. We arrived early to drop off our luggage and were given our room before check in time. Our room tunred out to be very hot, but one word to reception and this was resolved by the time we returned later in the day. The location is great for most sightseeing. The helpful attitude of staff - nothing was too much trouble. They remagnetised the room keys for us after we managed to banjax them! It is so convenient for a great Dublin break - very close to shops,sights and top quality restaurants and bars.It's even just a 2min walk to the airport bus which makes getting to and from the hotel very easy and stress free. I cant think of anything to complain about. The only bad thing about the hotel is the bells from the cathedral, they do go all through the night, you get used to it though :-). The breakfast was alright, but you didn't have that much of a selection. But the "Queen of tarts" is just 5 min away and has a excellent breakfast and amazing scones and cakes. Could need a little refurbishment here and there. I have no complaints at all!!. Not much to dislike about this place but if I had to say something the breakfasts were only so-so. Also if you are a light sleeper you may be woken occasionally by the pub patrons. But hey you are in Temple Bar, join them. Beware that Christchurch Catherdral is closeby and the church bells ring every hour. This was not too much of a disturbance but would be if you are a light sleeper. Nothing!. The shower had low water pressure. The rooms were a bit dim which made reading difficult. Also the TV was quite small. At time the church bells across the street were annoying - especially in the middle of the night. But there's nothing the hotel management can really do about that. We had mild weather so we slept with the windows open so the sound was quite loud. It was a little bit noisy at night - our room was just over the pub entrance - I'm sure it wouldn't be an issue in other rooms. We were very pleased with the hotel and would stay there again. Didn't bother us, but no bath (just nice big shower) might bother some people. nothing. The small TV let the room down a little and there is no air conditioning (not usually required in Dublin anyway!!!) although there was a fan supplied. The bells from the church opposite ring out day and night and can interrupt sleep when the window is open. Through no fault of the Harding, some of the rooms are located over a pub and it can be quite noisy on Friday and Saturday nights. Also, the WIFI connection was not always available. A bit stuffy (we slept with the window open in April). Only slight problem was shower leaked on floor, curtain didn't do its job!. Not a big deal.but it would be nice if there were radio/clock in the rooms. The hotel is in need of some updating in terms of the well worn carpeting. Overall condition of the hotel is not out of line with the price point. The Folder with the guest information in my room was incredibly dirty and could do with replacing. Would have preferred more control over heat and air. Music from outside noticeable (saturday), but still ok, at least on the 4th floor. N/A. Having to leave. Beds and pillows were not real comfortable. My girlfriend had trouble with ambient noises and sleeping; the Christ Church bells ring on the quarter of the hour:-(. We had to close the windows, too noisy. But it is the city! We did not like the breakfast at Copper Bistro. There wasn't anything I didn't like. Very poor lighting No wash clothes. nothing it was great. Don't accept a top floor room, the slopped ceiling takes space away from the room. We spent one night in room 516 and changed to 214. On one of the nights there was a lot of noise from the bar until about 2 am. Carpets were kind of old-- could use some updating. Lighting in the room was terrible. Church bells from Christchurch on Friday night were continuous for 2 hours. Paying for local phone calls! It was really expensive and seemed excessive. No ac or large fan when we were there during a heat wave; Church across the street ringing bells every half hour/hour (very nice, but with windows open to try to get some air - not much sleep!). Also the Pub closing & out came the boys with a few too many - very noisy.
