While not in the city center, it was still a healthy walk away. If it hadn't been a comfortable distance away, the whole day would have been spent driving, shopping, eating, and sleeping. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and provided a map with a quick explanation. The room was very clean, the bathroom nice, and shampoo and soap were included. The tv was a decent size. The hotel was clean, quite, and very comfortable. I especially liked the Hotel staff, who were all very polite and helpful.

I would recommend that Accor drop the price of its Mercure breakfasts so that it is a tad more commensurate with its more budget-style hotels (i.e. Ibis, Etap, Formule 21, etc.).Dinner came with creamy sauce after asking for no dairy. Language barrier, rectified quickly with another dinner delivered without sauce. Need a refrigerator in the room. Shower walls need more cleaning. Breakfast is very expensive.Breakfast too expensive, need to pay for Internet. Relatively far walking distance from the railway station.I think the breakfast charge is a bit on the high side. It should be lowered, if not included in the room rates. french-bed options is limited. The hotel wasn't in the most interesting part of town and the views left a bit to be desired, but it was only a short walk to the the city center. All in all, the hotel was very good value. No toilet roll provided for room. Staff quite rude when advising of payment.I Do not regard it as a city center hotel,( The Mercure Stuttgart City Center) is misleading. Breakfast too expensive.Why can it not be made clear that when you book a double room you expect a double bed not twins. Also information should stipulate either bath ,shower or both . Mention of hair dryer and iron are also key to guests. As my husband is away from home a lot, it spoilt our break as out of 4 nights stay in Europe only one hotel was able to offer and correctly give us a double bedded room!. The heating system was not powerful enough in the room.The hotel although described as "City Centre" was in fact on the outskirts and was very very noisy as it was right on the main road. Mineral water in the room is priced 2,40euro !!!! Breakfast is offered at 16euro !!! .. Without anything special included it is too expensive for a 3 star hotel. Menu in the Restaurant was a bit limited. All the Drinks machines have been removed. no safe in the room. the internet was expensive. Internet facilities did not work, beds were too soft, so were pillows, felt like sleeping in a swimming pool. No bar ridge or coffee facilities.
