Literally across the street from the outer city wall, this was a FABULOUS location from which to explore Rothenburg ob der Tauber. Our family of 4 had plenty of room for a 2 night stay, though we were all in one room. A basic gasthaus, this was our only choice for a family of 4 on the opening day of the Weinachtsmart in 2013.
all reviews The breakfast was very nice. They made hot chocolate for our kids (hieße schokolade). The hotel is right outside the gate and a 10 min walk to the market square and St Jakob's church. A very typical, simple Bavarian hotel. We had the family room and it was plenty of space for us and our two kids. the bathroom was also a good size and modern. the location is fantastic for walking to the shops and restaurants inside Rothenburg. The staff was wonderful! The common area was tastefully decorated. We loved our room. It was spacious, clean and comfortable. Their breakfast was delicious! Would love to stay there again!. Very clean, spacious & comfortable room with a large bathroom with 2 sinks! Flowers adorned the windows. Breakfast was delightful. Only a short walk to the old town. Also ate dinner here. Felt very homey and private - only nine rooms. Nice breakfast provided. Close to Rothenberg. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was excellent and location cannot be better!. Server at breakfast wasn't very welcoming, though she did get coffee/hot chocolate. No lobby or sitting room to relax in while the older kids fell asleep. No soap or shampoo. The white towels are ancient and rough. The one yellow towel was much nicer, though my teenage son claimed it, first. Shower was very low pressure. Room smelled like someone had been previously smoking in it. No wi-fi in the room (only in the main house), the staff does not speak very good English, breakfast was poor.
