We liked the location very much, from where you had a nice view on Rothenburg ob der Tauber. Die Fuchsmühle is down in the valley, crossed by a river. It was very cold when we were there, but I can imagine it´s wonderful in the spring and in the summer. I bet children can swim in the little river as well. The house is modest, but nicely arranged and very clean. It´s not the kind of place you would expect from a pension. You would think you are in a nice hotel. The room was very spacious and ni. all reviews
The Fuchsmuhle is down a "very steep cliff" - this is no joke
and although my husband and I (30 years old) thought this was a fun
adventure and had no problems my parents and his (60 years old) had some
issues getting up and down - although they did it! We only met one staff
member and she was incredibly nice throughout out stay. The rooms are
basic and very clean. The breakfast is nice although a bit expensive.
There is a little family room where you can sit and enjoy coffee/tea
and chatting w.
We absolutely loved everything about Fuchsmuhle. The staff was wonderful, Lisa was the sweetest person, the entire place is just exceptional! Breakfast was great! The setting with it's wonderful view of Rothenburg up the hill along with the rippling sound of the river across the lane and the sound of the waterwheel at the mill were so soothing. The apartment was perfect for our family of 4 adults. Very highly recommend staying here!.
We were 5 adult family members traveling together and our host, Alex, attended to our every need. Our three rooms were clean, quiet and nicely updated, and the farm fresh breakfasts were heavenly and got us off to a good start each morning. It was also a nice bonus to have laundry facilities on site. We would definitely recommend this lovely pension!.
Clean rooms, good location. Although the walk to Rothenburg is quite steep, so those less mobile should take note. Plenty of free parking in Rothenburg though if the walk is a struggle for you. Pension is next to Topplerschlosschen a very unusual 14th century building.
Good breakfast and plenty available too.
The hotel is literally on the Tauber river - an amazing location. In the morning we just stepped outside and dipped our feet in the water. Very friendly staff and good breakfast. We took the family room which was very big and comfortable. And of course - 3 minutes from the beautiful medieval center of Rothenburg.
We loved the Fuchsmuhle! We were only there for one night, but wish our stay was longer. It's the perfect retreat, just down the hill and out of town from the bustle of the walled city. Alex, the proprietor, was a great host, the rooms are spacious and beautiful, and the breakfast was excellent. We'll be back!.
The room was really nice with a great price. The person at the desk was
wonderful and very friendly. It is very modern and bright. Love the fact
that the water wheel is still there and working. Rothenburg is amazing.
We will be visiting again.
Great spot, just outside the walled city. Very nice and helpful staff. Our room was clean and plenty big enough for our family of four. He even had a drink cooler for us to buy and take items up to our room. We only spent one night here.
The location, the price, the welcome and friendliness shown, the quality of the room, the cleanliness, the outstanding breakfast all made this an excellent choice. And helped by a good value for mney price!!.
Very comfortable, bright, clean, fresh rooms. Loved the location down by the Tauber River and a very nice shortish steep walking distance to Rothenburg. Our family really enjoyed our stay!.
Room, Staff, Cleanness, Confort, Countryside. There is a beautiful water mill on the property. The walking path that leads to Rothenburg, although steep, is very beautiful.
Absolutely stunning setting and gorgeous property. We so enjoyed our stay. Comfortable and big beds in a cozy setting. Lovely breakfast spread. Lovely walk into Rothenberg.
Beautiful big quad room- perfect for us with two small jet lagged kids; great breakfast; kids loved seeing the water wheel; location was quiet, but not far from town.
Breakfast was offered a part. Big surprise, fares are fair for what
comes in the bio buffet. Excelent. Alex, the owner is very atencious,
and works everywhere.
Wonderful place to stay. Full of character, spacious, clean and quiet. Staff could not be more friendly and helpful. Lovely pleasant walk to the old town.
Large, clean, comfortable rooms. Friendly host. Delicious breakfast. Great location - easy access to town, but away from the hustle and bustle.
An exceptional value! Accommodations and staff, far exceeded our expectations. VERY gracious hosts, who value the customer as a personal guest.
Everything, can not say enough wonderful things about our stay there it was fabulous in everyway. Owner is fantastic, helpful and very nice!!!.
Absolutely fabulous facility. Sparkling clean, comfortable rooms, wonderful breakfast, small, felt like we were in our own private inn.
Nice rooms, friendly helpful staff, convenient, beautiful location. The breakfast was wonderful with a nice variety of selections.
Booked a single room and it's big, new and clean! The staff is friendly to provide me the torch light for me to go out at night.
good location. Nice room , country style just a step from the river & nature. free coffee &tea at lounge 24 h.
We loved it! Such a clean, spacious, comfortable place to stay off the beaten path but so close to the old village.
Alex the owner was very helpful. Room was very clean with 15 min walk to old town across the river.Good breakfast.
Awesome quiet hiyel out in the country, but close enough to Rothenburg. Great facilities, fantastic breakfast.
We loved that we were in the country but so close to Rothenburg. The walk up the hill was great exercise.
The room was very cozy and very quiet. The hotel is not so close of the city, but this is not a problem.
The service of staff, the location is quiet and scenic, breakfast is of quality and quantity.
The room for 6 person is spacious! Recetion staff is friendly. The surroundig is amazing!.
Medieval architecture the food the ambience and the guided tour with the
night watchman.

Room is large and clean. Very cozy feel like home.
Breakfast, friendly, very simple & quiet.
Helpful staff. Quite location.
Every thing were very good!.
Very friendly.
Great buffet.
Nice hotel. Peacful. The owner is very helpful. Recommend to people who drive to Rothenberg.
The towels are like drying yourself with a newspaper - but apparently
they are washed in an ecofriendly manner so I can't really complain.
Its a bit far from town and the walking directions could be a bit
clearer (we were pretty lost finding it).
The fact that we had only 1 day to stay in at Fuchsmuhle.
There was absolutely nothing bad we could say about our stay here!.
The site mentioned that the hotel is a 15 minute walk to Rothenburg -
they should mention it is up a steep hill.
The walk up into Rothenburg was rather steep. We are a rather young and fit family and we and to stop and catch our breath a couple of times.
It was all good for us!.
Nothing.
Nothing, it was wonderful.
None.
Nobody at the reception. It took a time to be attended. We got ansious
if is there someone to open the door ... Same occurs with a next couple
that arrives later.
Very steep hill to city, but navigable for the young at heart and enthusiastic visitor. Trail was paved and well groomed, however I will reiterate, it is quite strenuous.
the 15-20 walk from town down a steep hill was challenging with young children. FIne of you are active and enjoy walking/hiking, but a bit further that we realized when we booked.
It's a bit of hike up the hill to the town, 15 min. But nice to get away!.
wi fi was low in rooms.
Loved all of it. Fantastic hotel.
Nothing.
No lift and we have to carry our luggage to 4th floor.
A snooty waitress in a hotel beside the Lutheran church who did not want
to explain the menu I have a little German but needed a little help.
The walk into town is fine for most people, but not if you were carrying your bags or have trouble walking up steep hills.
No breakfast available which was a shame but I knew this when I booked. Would have made it beyond perfect!!.
Only sorry that we could stay one night.
Hard to find.
None.
Nothing!.
Location, about 15mins walk from old town.
