Platzl Hotel is adjacent to the Marienplatz which means easy walking access to / from München Airport by S-Bahn (S-1 or S-8) or any other destination. They have the finest complementary breakfast of any hotel we've stayed in around the world. Friendly, professional staff who go out of their way to make you feel welcome and comfortable. Bavairian hospitality at its finest!. From the moment we checked in the service at the Platzl Hotel was extremely good. The reception staff were extremely professional and helpful, the standard of the hotel exceeded my expectations and the location was very good. Yes the room was small but we knew that as it was clear on the website. However that did not deter us from having a very positive experience.

I didn't express my wish when booking for a non-smoking room and didn't realize that it was still permitted to smoke in the rooms. My room had a very strong smell of smoke and because I had to keep the window closed all night because of the noise from people outside I woke up with a sore throat and all my clothes smelled. Pity, as the hotel is very good!. Only one internet does not seem to accommdate the number of the guests.. at the first floor the smell from the kitchen is not pleasure. A bit outdated, however...they are beginning thier complete renovation 2-09. The floor of the room was covered by a fitted-carpet, which to a certain degree kills the feeling of a traditional bavarian hotel.The staff at the front desk was very off-hand and casual about a complaint I brought to their attention. Also, I left requests for the cleaning staff in the room which were not filled. too narrow wellness center. My room was across from the Hofbrauhaus, which made it very noisy if the window was open. With the window closed this was not a problem.
