  The staff was very friendly and very helpful with directions. Location was excellent: 3 closeby train stations and very central, beside Alster lake, closeby touristy spots. The rooms were new, very comfy beds (difficult to leave the room!) Price was reasonable for the convenience. I also liked the Barcelo hotel big sign that helped us find the hot... what people say » el when we were lost walking in the streets. - Excellent location near to station, art gallery, and shopping areas. Short walk to Town Hall square and lake. Very helpful staff at reception. Seuss penthouse suite which was superb and excellent value. Can't really fault the hotel except the design of the ground floor areas is rather bland and uninteresting.

  Being welcomed at the hotel in a very friendly and polite way throughout the short stay. The reception staff had always a nice word, recommended something, took time, simply took care of their customer in a professional way. The room was excellent, nothing was missing, and everything worked. The walk from the train station does involve passing by several "exotic" shops and streetwalkers, but this is germany, and any hotel near to a railway station is going to involve an interesting walk.
