  Very clean. Good beds, good shower. Enough space en very friendly people working here. Basic and clean. If you walk along the road under the railroad tracks it is about 5-10 minutes walk from hauptbahnhof. (Exit washingtonplatz) 3 houses next to the hotel is Don Giovanni, a very cheap but good restaurant. Italian restaurand, with good food for little money and friendly staff, next door made my kitchenett pontless, and i don't regret it. it's very close to many "must see" places. Really 5 minutes walk to Haupbanhoff (with heavy luggages add extra 10 minutes time), by taxi 1,5 minutes to drive. No screaming party drunks were heard in 5 days of my stay. suits very well for families.

  I have stayed a number of nights in meininger Hotel Berlin Hauptbahnhof to catch an early train from Berlin Hauptbahnhof. This hotel is less than 100 m away from the station. I also stayed in other hotels around Berlin Hauptbahnhof and I think meininger Hotel is the best for the money you are paying (well, Motel One is clearly much nicer, but you ... what people say » usually have to pay twice as much). This MEININGER Hotel had everything I needed for a sleepover: clean and comfortable bed, good location, free WIFI, - - Outstanding location, right next to train station.   Clean room, friendly staff, everything was functional and all with quite a reasonable price and like, in a good position too I guess (about 8 minutes to the central station Hauptbahnhof). They are what they promise to be. The shared bathrooms weren't a problem at all.   Our room was brand new, very big for a European Hotel. It was Clean. The Breakfast was Magnificent. They had a complimentary fruit basket available all day long. Free Internet. It was close to buses subway and the bus to the airport picked up in front of hotel and was a 15 minute ride. - The staff was very friendly and very helpful.
