If you are particularly sensitive to the smell of smoke you would notice it in the rooms. parking place was small. The hotel was *very* old and you could tell. The room was clean but smelled smoke. The area is a bit dodgy, (north Dortmund, near the railway station, not the best place to be). It tended to get noisy but not too much. Very dated! Needs a referb. With two modern hotels very near by I can see them losing a lot of business.Location. Elevator didn't work and we had room at the six floor.the uneven floors, make you feel drunk! Rooms were small, hotel itself was clean but the area it was in was anything but!. The people at the reception are refreshingly natural, friendly and supportive, my room was very clean but very old fashion and the WLan didn't work; no beverage (cold drinks) at the breakfast buffet...cold in the room, staff always left window opened and heating was off. I pointed it out at the reception and only one day it was OK. Having booked hotel 2/3 months previous, to be told with four weeksnotice they would not be open!!!! Terrible we had a last miniute panictrying to find a hotel within our price range. Luckily the nh dortmundhad a special rate or we would have been in trouble.
