This is a very budget friendly hotel and excellent value. The cheapest place we stayed on our 3 week vacation, but it was super clean and new. Check in was not until 17:00...don't even try to get in earlier. The reception desk is not staffed and doors are locked prior ... make sure you have a check in reservation number issued by the hotel if checking in after the cut off time. All doors are accessed thru a code. We skipped the breakfast and ate at the McDonalds just a block from the hotel.
all reviews » We were a group on a tour of ww1 Battle sites around Verdun. This hotel met our needs. Nearby restaurants included a steakhouse and Chinese which gave us a generous reduction when we told them we were staying at the ibis. We stayed here one night and it served our needs quite well. The hotel is a bit outside of the city, but there is lots of free parking in and around Verdun and it's only a 5 minute drive. Good value for a short stay. Very clean, functional, quiet and perfect for a night halt. Evening meals available nearby, quick and easy check-in and out. Close to A6. Excellent value. Nice and clean. A basic hotel but can't argue at the price. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Used purely as a stop-over and served its purpose. No frills excellent value hotel. Although it is a bit out of the city center it is not far from an excellent bakery and restaurants. modern, comfortable rooms and we were very delighted to have a very good chinese restaurant next to the hotel. The bed was rock hard but for one night it wasn't a problem. No hair dryer either, but my expectations were super low due to the price...I Was pleasantly surprised. It is a good 20 minute walk to the centre of Verdun. Not a problem fro us just a nice to know. The shower temperature was very inconsistent - maybe because the hotel seemed full when we were there and lots of people were using water at the same time. This was the only Ibis we stayed at where we were limited to one croissant at breakfast!. A drive to the town of Verdun if you want to visit. Set on an industrial/retail estate - fine of you want a quiet night and easy access for overnight stop but not picturesque!. Not easy to find even with a sat-nav. This was situated on an out of town development. We managed to find somewhere to eat nearby but it was not ideal. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room was a negative. Limited room at breakfast time. Could do with 2 pillows per person not just one. letsbookhotel.com reference does not work in automatic check in kiosk ! Arrive before 8, or can booking. Com fix this ? You need the 6 digit ibis code. Poor choice of very basic breakfast; I am gluten free. Location next to a shopping mall, not walking distance to town center. No comment. Erroneous booking code and incorrect contact telephone numbers caused us some worries. Check in was difficult. You need an Ibis Confirmation number for automated checkin. Not supplied from letsbookhotel.com. Poorly marked the address, in an industrial neighborhood away from town. This is the second time we were not able to self check in. When you state that you have already booked, you are asked to insert the credit card used to book then enter a a five digit pin number which cannot be found anywhere in the letsbookhotel.com confirmation so we had to sit in the car till the staff came in at 5pm. I had big problem with LATE COMING. No answer by email. we had to call to hotel to ask PIN number to open hotel after 9PM. but It didnt work!! So we had to proces new reservation by kiosk in front of hotel...Stupid reception. It is not clear at all that we need to get a code in order to get in between 11am and 5pm. We almost missed a wedding because of it. The lady that received us was not nice. The room was very small but clean. The check-out was too early and check-in too late. There was no soap or shampoo in the room, beware!. the toilet layout was poor. Wi Fi reception was poor. Not enough pillows, toilet,sink and shower should be in one unit not individual. and not enough plug sockets. Receptionist who was due to check us in was over 15 minutes late and did not even apologise for keeping 6 guests waiting!. Breakfast is not worth to take. Not even a plate is provided.
