Located in the village of Les Houches, Les Campanules is a hotel located a 5-minute drive from the ski slopes. It offers rooms with a furnished balcony and views of Mont Blanc mountain range or the surrounding forest. position and million dollar views of the mountains, large but basic room, great room rate, great restaraunt, nice fireplace and upstairs loungeroom, close to Les Houches(1.5k) and Chamonix(8k),great snow ski theme. Excellent staff: Vincent, Natasha, Maria, and the chef, in particular. Excellent dinners, and Vin Chaud!!! Shuttle to Belleview and Parion.

Manager and staff were very friendly and helpful and made a real effort to look after us during our stay. High points include open fire in lobby, good restaurant, TV room, pool table and hotel minibus which runs once/day to Les Houches cable car and gondola. Chamonix also easy to get to - 15 minutes from the nearby train station with free travel using Hotel card. Hotel very clean. Excellent staff who makes you feel at home. Location of hotel could make it hard to get around, but we had a car which made it ideal for us, as we prefer it to be a little quieter. There is a train station not far from the hotel but is at the bottom of the hill.The drinks were a little expensive particularly coffee and mulled wine - otherwise nothing!. pay attention for the street in winter period for snow and ice is hard to reach.No kettle in room.Only the fact that the bedroom layout was obscure.Not for people without their own transport.Lack of tea/coffee facilities in the rooms. The only small issue was a lack of water pressure for a few miutes. It seems that too many people may have been using the water at the same time in the morning, but we waited and it was no problem 20 minutes later.The door's room should be locked by inside without keys.Prices at the bar (a coffee at € 4 is a bit pricy !). Hard beds, no shower curtain!. Difficult to reach if you are not using a car, the nearest bus/train stop is a long way up to the hotel (10 minutes maximum, but difficult with luggages).Poor coffee.I very much regret the diner. I had a very expensive cheese fondue served without fondue forks and with crumbling supermarket bread crumbs...(I know exactly how it should be as I live in the area!) Not good!. The evening meal we had in the Hotel Restaurant was very expensive and not good value unfortunately! One mini boiled potato and a small chop is not enough after a full day skiing around the mountains! It was an inconvenience, but we ate out on the second night.A smell inside the hotel.I Guess its from the wood.The toilet and shower can be improved a bit, some fixing is needed.

- Take the A40 motorway towards Chamonix.

From Annecy/Grenoble:
- Take the A41 motorway towards Chamonix.
- Take the 2nd exit signposted Les Houches St Antoine.
- Turn right at the roundabout.
- Then take the 1st street on your right hand side towards Merlet/Gare SNCF.
- And then head towards Merlet.
