Sandra, the owner, couldn't do enough for you. One of the most happy and helpful propreiters I have ever come across and on more than one occasion Sandra went above and beyond the call of duty for my group. Very impressive lady with a big heart. Rooms were small but clean and well layed out. Restaurant was good and breakfast more than adequate. Stop for the ski bus was right outside the hotel. Supermarket just up the road.
all reviews » The owners were absolutely friendly and the room lovely; the bathroom was a bit small and the WC was separated from the other bathroom facilities but that was not a real problem, at least for us...the SPA was way over expectation, with jacuzzi, sauna and hammam. Even if Les Houches is a bit outside Chamonix (8 km / 5 mi) the advantage is that it is cheaper. Amazing location hotel and very friendly manager lady. I left my Kindle in the room and she post after me in safe packaging. I will never forget this kindness and the place. In clear weather you get amazing landscape panorama including Mount Blanc!. Due to St Jude we arrived at the hotel after the reception closed, but Sandra very kindly made alternative arrangements for us. The apartment was very comfortable and clean. We would definitely book here again. Great view of the mountain from the balcony with quiet atmosphere. The lady was cheerful and helpful in guiding us thru the activities around. Sandra and the team were great hosts, and the pizzas - to die for. Got bus from Geneva Airport and it drops you off at the door. Next to bus stop. (But buses full and not 100% reliable or frequent). Restaurant in hotel. Indian restaurant opposite hotel. very friendly staff, clean good size room, nice restaurant, easy to find good parking, bathroom small but o/k. Perfect situation. The surrounding area is very nice, the transportation from the hotel is very good (transport station just outside the hotel, still the transport system in the region is quite strange), the food in the hotel restaurant is excellent and the restaurant itself is very nice. Nice pizza restaurant, the rooms were pleasant enough. really clean. Looks beautiful from outside, but... Could do with more hooks and hangers for ski clothing. The ski bus gets very crowded and it is too far to walk. Bar area is very small for a large group. Ad said, someone could not get over the strange disposition of the bathroom, but it is more something of a fuss than a real problem, at least for us. Ferries cabin shower-toilet like bathroom is pretty small for a 4 bed room. Apparently we were double booked and although our booking was for only two nights (we were passing through) and this was allowed by letsbookhotel.com, the hotel usually only allows bookings of a min of 1 week. Fortunately Sandra was very accommodating. Bathroom is small, wifi is not strong signal, extra bed was shaking. Very small shower. Noisey. Not very noisey, but the sound travelled a lot as there was no sound insulation - could hear every word and door shutting in the corridor outside our room. Disturbed sleep. OK for skiing in Les Houches, but not so good for elsewhere. Rooms very hot during the night. Small lounge. being placed in the rear of the hotel and not having a balcony I did ask to change rooms straight away but was told this was not possible. Service from male members of staff. There weren't enough light in the room - windows are very small and lamps are dull. Also there were some dust in the corners. What we also didn't like was the bathroom - very small and made of plastic -reminds of the ferries and Etap hotels. Children not allowed in the health suite - the attraction of which was the main reasons why we had booked this hotel. Shocking to see tiny, cheap prefab bathrooms (only ever seen in motorway service station hotels) and cheapskate laminate floors in a supposedly three star hotel. I have stayed in better two star hotels in the centre of Chamonix. The owner/receptionist was a real "not possible" type of guy. not in the location advertised. Though situated in a beatiful place, under the Montblanc, the rooms are basic - extremely poorly lighted, the bathroom is a complete unit, very small (we had trouble soaping in the very small shower), there was no shelf under the mirror (only one bracket left). Everything looked and felt monastic. Breakfast fit the same notion.
