We arrived late and the reception staff still had a welcoming smile for us. All the staff were excellent, helpful and friendly. Although I speak some French the staff were more than willing to speak english to us. The breakfast buffet was great and a good variety. We didn't get to try the restaurant for evening meal. Treated like Royalty even tho' we were bikers. Reception served us free coffee on arrival, arranged for a ridiculously early check in (8:30) and got us brekkie too. Blimey thought I'd moved back in with my parents.Secure free parking a bonus.
all reviews » The room is very comfortable and the staff welcoming, friendly and helpful. We like the situation as convenient for visiting Chartres and for travelling. The meal we had in the evening was surprisingly good. Good service. Easy to find. Near shopping Mall, for food and other items. Food good and convienient without going into town. Good stopover hotel, will use again on a long journey.. A friendly comfortable hotel in good position both for visiting Chartres and ideally situated for an overnight stop on route between Calais and the motorways south. as always Ibis hotels never fail to give satisfaction. Good rooms, great breakfast and sensibly priced dinner menu. Quite busy but very competent staff. We stayed with our 2 dogs which was essential,for an overnight stay on our way to Calais, although my French was poor the staff were really helpful. Bed was really comfortable, reception was friendly and helpful. Particularly liked secure car park essential when traveling with a loaded car. We enjoyed a very nice evening meal in the hotel. The staff were very pleasant and friendly I liked being able to sit outside. Ideal for overnight stop en route to Southern France or returning to UK, rooms pleasant, dog friendly & reasonable tariff. There wasn't a lift. located in a slightly seedy area if you wanted to walk into Chartres as we did. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room. nothing. Air conditioning on the warmest day of the year so far we tried to turn down the air con. It didn't work when we asked at reception we were told that it was centrally controlled and all the rooms have to be the same. Why have controls in the room. It did make for a very warm and not vey comfortable night especially as we were on the ground floor and couldn't have a window open. Restaurant - poor food and not worth the money. Dry, poorly cooked. Unimaginative. There was no hot water on a very cold day. Unfortunate but very uncomfortable. it was early November so must remember it was out of season and there appeared only a handful of guests.it was also a bank holiday in France but it was a little dreary.located in housing and out of town shopping area.Locked entrance and fenced round which in one sense was good but gave a prison like feel.rooms warm and comfortable though. very limited food variety after a days travel. dated.
