  Nathan at reception dealt with our check in efficiently and a couteous manner. He arranged for us to keep our club room for the 3 nights hotel beds had booked. Nice lad. Thank him. - Everything was good, this is my 3rd stay, and will stay there again, when I have an extended stay in Beijing. I did notice a bit of a change in the breakfast though,

  The Shanshui has a perfect location , as it is right on the doorstep of Xidan's Shopping Malls .. The staff @ the hotel are extremely limited in they English ( even the Concierge only spoke very few words ) but as we were out there to visit the Fam , we didn't need to engage in conversation with the members of staff - who in all fairness were most... what people say » friendly especially the maids ..   Hey Beijing is Beijing. It's a super busy place; it's polluted (air) beyond belief. In itself, must be seen to believe. Kapok was on the door step of the forbidden city and tien'amen and very convenient for the purpose; to visit these. There is a food market on a part of the Main Street that is, if anything, worth seeing. Good luck if you want to ... what people say » eat the food! The Jade Garden next door (corner) has weird loo - This hotel is in a great location for tourist very close for Forbidden City and shopping as well. The design is great and the rooms have wood floors, always a plus in China where carpet cleaning is not a top priority. A consideration for those traveling with a partner or sharing a room on business, the bathrooms are glass walled with a curtain to pull shut when using the space, so consider this when booking this hotel depending on who else may be in the room.
