I am thrilled to have stumbled upon Summit Lodge and have already recommended your hotel to a number of family and friends who are equally excited to return to Whistler. Our experience with the staff was most welcoming and hospitable - actually prompting me to save the hotel number in my cell phone for future vacations. Not only does the lodge operate as a pet friendly, but they go above and beyond expectations, treating their four legged guests with as much thought and consideration as one mig.
all reviews » The Summit is in a great location in the Upper Village, but is set behind most of the shops/bars/restaurants, so it's nice and quiet. There's a Starbucks about a 30 second walk from the lobby doors, which then leads right into the Olympic Park (cool for kids) and then right there is the Upper Village, with all the shops and bars you would want. It's about a 10-15 minute walk to the ski hills/gondolas, but if you're just going up to enjoy Whistler for a few nights, this is a great location. The . This was our second stay here, we enjoy the atmosphere when you walk in, the staff is always pleasant and ready to help! As a former hotel employee, I noticed everyone from front desk (extremely kind and friendly!! Keep up the great work!) to the housekeeping crew who always greeted us with a smile and even offered us waters for a journey home. I plan on coming back to whistler and I will most definitely be coming back to summit lodge:) a big thank you to all the staff here your managers and o. Everything was at the highest level. Having stayed in many different hotels in Whistler, I found this one the best option for the money I spent. The staff was very friendly, the location is 10 minutes from the gondola, the room had all the necessary facilities and even more than I expected. Away though from the ski lifts, the location would be less desirable for skiers, but as non skiers on this occasion, it offered immediate access to the village stroll, a pedestrianed thoroughfare, and to a large supermarket. It was extremely nice that the hotel was pet friendly,had a kitchenette, coffee in the lobby, & double pane windows. We were surprise at how clean the room was because there was no pet smell and stains. The kitchenette also included many useful things we did not expect in a hotel. There was nothing to dislike, everything was excellent. Especially Andrea on reception who was very efficient and went the extra mile in helping us with travel arrangements. There was always lovely coffee, juice and iced water available in reception. Wish we could have stayed longer. Compared to the others at Whistler at the time we stayed your hotel shone brightly! For all the amenities and location it was well worth it. No charge for the dog and Internet is a really smart move. More hotels should do this instead of ripping people off. location was perfect, close to Whistler Village Stroll yet not in the middle of the hustle and bustle of noise that comes from the action. Very close to the Olympic Plaza. We had a small balcony overlooking the street. We got a good price for weeknight. Friday and Saturday prices doubled. We would stay there again. It also costs $20 a day, which I thought was expensive. They tell you that the Whistler Village Day Parking is about a 5 minute walk away, but it's more like 10 minutes. The VERY tight parking spaces!. Poor balcony furniture. Just 2 crabby plastic green chairs and no table. Otherwise there was little to dislike. The balcony and the balcony chairs were dirty. The front desk staffs did not tell us about anything. At least mention the heated pool...etc. You know for the price, I do not like to say anything at all, but the bathroom a little small, but even that was well equipped. All in all very good job, pricing appearance cleanliness amenities and location Good stuff! We will be back!. No complaints at all. The hotel showed its age in nicked woodwork. The pool was small and the patio around it not kept up in line with the rest of the hotel. There wasnt any problems. This is really just a personal thing - I noticed that the mattress was quite firm and not very comfortable. Just a thought but you might like to look into a foam top mattress. The fact that you had to pay $20 a day for parking. Nothing, was perfect. Parking was tight in the hotel parkade. I don't like the proximity of the room next to ours. People from the next room smoked and talked on the patio during the early morning hours. I have never stayed in a "pet friendly" hotel before,it did not bother me personally, but have friends who are allergic to cats/dogs and would like to had this information prior to booking this hotel. Difficult to find channels on the TV, many not accessible. Otherwise no complaints. The housekeeping was lax: we didn't have a bath mat, we almost ran out of toilet paper, and a room-service tray sat down the hall from us for about 21 hours. When I called the housekeeping number to ask for more toilet paper, I was told that their mailbox was full. My bed was quite soft and sagged in the middle like a hammock, so I'm still nursing the backache that it gave me. The lights in the room were extremely dim. The coffee machine in the lobby was broken several times when I tried to use it. We loved it all!. Parking was ok if you had a small car. I drive a pick up truck. not so good when trying to park it in the underground parking. A mini van would also be too big. Pool was dirty, but it was windy that day. Lots of debris blowing around. Hallway noise was a problem, room was a bit tight and although it was a kitchenette and we understand that means limited facilities it would have been nice to have a small oven to cook frozen pizza or entrees (we have a teenager :-)). Also a Keurig coffee maker is disappointing. A real drip unit or even a French press would have been superior. Parking price. We didn't pay it. Just parked car in the free lot that is not far away. Vacumming at 6am woke us up on the 4th floor. Car park incredibly tight. We arrived mid afternoon and managed to get the last full size car space. I had to park inches from a pillar and then walk along the top of a three foot wall to get out, and I had to pay 20% on top of the cost of the room for the priviledge. Parking costs at the hotel, though it was secure. Underground parking area small Spaces between cars in parkade tight. the air conditioner was right beside the bed (not sure if it's like that in every room). Bathrooms a little old fashioned but clean. Small parking spaces in garage. - parking fee. Cannot think of any. Parking - are car is not large, and we went out, came back and only one very, very small space was available. Dogs allowed in hotel and barked constantly...noise both mornings from refrigerated food deliveries at 6am then again at 7.30 at front door!Perfect.
