We arrived fairly late and had a bite to eat and a drink in the pub downstairs. Very friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. Beds very comfortable and quiet during the night. We had been concerned about city noise but was very peaceful! Restaurant for breakfast was wonderful. Great food, service, price and decor Was just a night stay, but would definitely stay there again and have recommended the restaurant to my family fwho live in Victoria.
all reviews » I really liked how they stored my suitcase before check in so I could do my work and same thing after I checked out. I didn't have to pack my luggage to a business meeting. Also the convenience of the location being right downtown Victoria almost next to the museum and archives was a tremendous bonus. I liked how they put me in a room on the 14th floor which gave me the best views ever. Nicely set out and reasonably spacious room(s). We stayed on two separate occasions. Very friendly and helpful receptionist. The young guy should be promoted! Both of parties parties commented upon his manner. We watched him with other guests. Very impressive. (Young white guy. Wish I could supply his name.). Everything. The view, amenities in the room were very nice, price was great. Location for sure could not be better. Staff oozed hospitality and were very kind and professional. Always greeted the guests. Truly remarkable that they go that little bit further to make guests feel welcome and comfortable. The staff were exception and provided amazing customer service. The room was spotless and our view was outstanding of the harbor and distant mountains. They also let us check-in when we arrived very early and have a check-out time of midday so you can relaxing relax during your stay. Great hotel with excellent rooms. The location is the best, only 1.5 blocks to the harbour water edge, just behind the Empress. We were high enough to have a great view, even though it did not face the harbour. Victoria itself was fantastic. Relaxing walks and excellent food. Loved the views (we were on the 16th floor.) The suite was just what we requested. Staff were very quick to get a couple of things we wanted for the kitchen (salt, pepper and paper towels.) Kitchen was well equipped. The suite was quiet - could not hear other guests. Lovely!. I especially liked my first room, with a king bed, balcony, and comfy sitting area. My second room, that had a kitchen but no balcony, was also nice. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and the location is excellent (close to the waterfront and nice restaurants). Very friendly and accomodating staff; location was perfect; convenient parking. The bathroom was very clean and modern. Overall a good replacement for our usual choice of the former Queen Victoria Hotel and Suites. We would definitly stay here again. Fantastic view from very comfortable 14th floor 2 bedroom suite with kitchen. This was my second time here. The staff were universally kind and helpful at all times. My room had a nice view of Mt Baker (when it wasn't raining) and it is in a great location in the middle of everything. The staff were all very polite and helpful. The proximity of the hotel restaurants and lounge was also nice. The room was clean and it was handy to have a microwave, fridge and coffee-maker in our room. Location, location, location. Could do with a fridge in the room too. There was nothing that we didn't like. The first room they put us in had no insulation from the next door room and they moved us immediately after we asked. I have no complaints!. Nothing. The room was very hot, even though we had the air conditioner turned on. I had e-mailed the hotel with questions a few days before we arrived, and never received a reply. I eventually found the answers to my questions by searching the hotel website (this took a while, since the answers weren't easy to find), but I wasn't happy to be ignored. Very limited and cramped parking. The hotel is starting to look a little tired. Absolutely nothing.Loved it. Didn't visit the pup or the fine dining restaurant, but the food and service in the casual dining area was well below par. Vinegar laced poached egg, mushy batter on fish, cold lasagna stale croissants, no consistency in service or food. Had to ask daily for second cup of coffee. Started going elsewhere for breakfast after first few days. Definitely not worth the convenience of not having to leave the hotel for any meals. needs more eco friendly items (such as bulk soap and shower dispensers installed), paper recycling, "no laundering" signs for those who will reuse towels, etc. I couldn't get my computer to work. Nothing other than it was a little difficult to find as the address doesn't really reflect its precise location. Nothing. Nothing negative to say. :). having to pay for parking. That was an eye opener but it was also valuable considering you do have to pay for parking downtown. 24 minutes for a loonie. Lack of Air-conditioning was uncomfortable at times. room was hot. Internet service was terrible up and down the three days we were there. Didn't have tv channels until the next day after two complaints. Not applicable...everything was very nice. Didn, t find anything we didn, t like. It was too hot in our room. We opened the window, but then the noise from the street was too much so had to close in order to sleep. We tried turning down the heat as far as it would go, but it was still very warm, which was surprising for springtime. The temperature of the room was not controllable and it was very warm for our liking. The one small window was fully open but did not provide much circulation. There was no fridge and for medication wise a fridge would be a great facility. parking was total chaos no control or guidance for arriving quest, no signage of any type to guide guest to available parking. there is valet parking but the forgot to tell anyone. Nothing. We will stay there again in a few weeks. Everything was great!. Lack of air conditioning - though the fans worked out. Thecofee supplied in the room is undrinkable. They supply a wonderful drip filter system but the coffee is a mild blend which if your from Melbourne or Sydney,Australia, you will not recognise this as cofee. Looked like the only airconditioning was stand alone units in both rooms - in our kids' room it was very hot in the morning. Loved the large windows but wished there were sheer curtains to pull across for daytime privacy, rather than the heavy drapes which of course block out the great view. No air conditioning or bathroom fan.
