The history and architecture of the building was amazing. The building was a lovely mix of historic features and modern amenities. The location is unbeatable. Staff was extremely friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and welcoming. The included breakfast offered variety and was delicious. The restaurant staff were efficient and friendly. The complimentary room upgrade was a lovely surprise and made the stay that much more memorable.
all reviews » I loved being in a historical building and yet all modern amenities were at my fingertips I liked having a valet because parking was an issue and understandably so in such a rich historical city. .Most importantly, the hostess unexpectedly, upgraded our room to the loft and I thought I was in heaven. I have never stayed in such a luxurious suite. I didn't want to get out of the bed in the morning. Merci bien!. love the quaintness of this hotel. The room was decorated with cottage comfort and had a very comfortable bed with luxury linens. The restaurant had a super breakfast menu that was "home-made" style and delicious. Very conveniently located near Chat. Frontenac and the village stores and square - no need for a taxi. Would highly recommend this hotel. The location was perfect. A full menu of breakfast choices was included with the room and the food was delicious. A quirky cross between a bed and breakfast and an old-school inn. Each room is unique. It was a large studio with a western motif. The front desk staff was friendly. No elevator. Restaurant menu for dinner had limited options. We were on the third floor and my husband has a problem with one of his knees. There was no elevator. Thankfully we were in good shape, but our room was on the top floor and required a steep climb up the many stairs. Would highly recommend or suggest to customers the lack of elevator in the event that they are unable to master stairs. Our gps did not know the street name so we struggled a bit finding the hotel. You could not pull your car up to the hotel and there was no parking lot, so you could pay for valet service or take your chances on the street. Some might dislike the lack of an elevator but not us. It added to the charm. It was difficult to find in a car as not on a clearly vehicle friendly road. The TV was not the best but that really wasn't a problem!. We didn't like the coffee maker that was provided in the room as it didn't make a full cup of coffee. Not a big deal though. No instructions for shower or radio alarm. parking was not available, but valet would take your car and park for you. Our room on the top floor was beautiful, but the stairs were quite tiring. Not for everyone. The room was smaller than expected. The hot water was intermittent. There was no direction about how to use the amenities in the room such as AC and the shower. Steep and narrow steps at entrance. Extended handrails sorely needed. Liked everything. The food in the restaurant needs improvement. lovely setting but the food was awful. Nothing. Morning desk attendant didn't assist us out for an early flight with bags as we'd been told he would. N/A. I really don't have any criticism. The hotel was a great choice for our vacation. 52 stairs to get to the room (third floor, no elevator)!. No elevator. The stairs .. But only minor inconvenience. Central location is great but comes with noisy crowds at night. Our air conditioning unit was not working proper so our windows had to remain open. No elevators. Anything. Hotel was understaffed. You had to climb 6 flights of stairs to our room (no elevator). The facility is not on a motor vehicle-accessible street and while they had valet parking...who knew? So parking was problematic. Restaurant needed cleaning (cob webs). Room itself was dark (not enough light to read). Furniture was uncomfortable (bed was great).
